"Alright, let's hope we can get in today to get that cat checked out." Griffith said, shutting the door for Darcy. He headed over to the driver's side of the car and got situated, looking up when he saw Dixon and Harper emerge from the building. He smiled a bit and waved towards them, which, as soon as Dixon caught sight, he waved back.
Griff continued to grin at his little family before starting up the car and pulling out onto the street.

While Griff would never outright admit it, he didn't really hope that they'd get into the vet's today, moreover, he didn't really hope that the cat would get a clean bill of health, and yet...
"So absolutely nothing is wrong? No disease? No ticks? No fleas? Nothing?" He asked the veterinarian who was currently handing Darcy the cat back (who apparently had gotten the luxury treatment in the way of a bath).
She looked to Griffith and grinned.
"Nope, her and her babies are perfectly healthy. You know, you're really fortunate. She's such a delight to have, especially considering you found her as a stray." The vet commented.
Darcy had absolute lit up like it was Christmas morning upon that news, taking the cat back into his arms and rubbing her ears. "How soon should it be before she has the kittens, do you think?" he asked the vet, scratching under the cats chin now.
"Oh I can't imagine she's that far off from having them, maybe even in the next couple of weeks." The vet answered, grinning as she reached over to scratch at the cat's back lightly.
"I guess I'm lucky she didn't pop in the shop then." Griffith uttered, reaching up to scratch at the back of his neck, clearly displeased with the thought of not only having one cat, but a whole litter.
"Given her situation, we would have liked to give her vaccinations, just as part of her wellness plan, but since she's expecting, we'll have to wait. Bring her back once you've started weaning the kittens. But for now...that's it." The vet said, stepping back and taking her hand back. She stuffed her hands into her lab coat and grinned down at Darcy. "Make sure you get her tags soon." She advised.
Darcy nodded, hesitant now. He didn't know if Griffith was going to jump on the fact that she didn't have fresh vaccinations or not. "Yeah, I will. Thank you." Darcy smiled.
If Griffith HADN'T just seen how ecstatic Darcy was to hear that damned cat was in perfectly good health, he might have reacted more towards the vaccination bit, however... damn it, after seeing Darcy's face, seen how excited he was, he couldn't say a word.
"Alright...well...that's, Doc." He said, nodding, looking to Darcy. "Let's get home, your sister's probably wondering if you're setting up shop with the rest of the strays here." He joked, nudging at one of Darcy's wheels with his foot.
Darcy gave him a wide smile and cuddled the cat closer. "See, I knew you were white and black, silly dusty thing." He said, petting her ears as he reached with one hand to push for the door. "Thanks again, Doc!"
Griff couldn't help but give a light chuckle and reached out to ruffle Darcy's hair softly as he trailed after him, only stepping in front of him to open the door for him. He paused for a second and pointed at Darcy.
"BUT that cat is staying in your room at night, got it? I don't want her roaming around the house unsupervised and I don't want her in my bed." He warned.
Darcy smiled, snuggling the cat close as she purred and gave a tired yawn, apparently very relaxed and relieved herself. "Yeah, yeah! I'll make her a spot." he nodded and hesitated. "Griff... if.. if I pay you back.. can we get her some things? Please?" he said, uncertainly. "I'll do everything I physically can at the shop or.. or I'll look for a job in town!"
Griffith blinked, a little surprised. Usually, whenever Dixon asked for something, he simply asked for whatever it was, not really bothering to discuss "paying" Griffith back in any way, shape or form. It was a mild surprise that Darcy, Dixon's "other half", would be so different.
"I...uh...yeah, kid, sure." He said, nodding. "When we get the shop up and running, you can help with the paper stuff, yeah? And I can show you how to do inventory." He said.
"Alright, well, I suppose we've gotta get her food, a litter box, things like that, so we may as well pick that up on the way home, alright?" Griffith nodded. "We can at least get her a collar, but we'll have to get the tags another day, okay, kid?" He shut the door behind them as they exited the building and he once again made his way over to the car and opened up the door, ready to help Darcy if needed.
"Yeah, I can make a makeshift one for now." Darcy said and went to get in again, though he was pretty tired from working all day and being tense about what the results with his new cat were going to be. "Think I need help this time." he admitted with great reluctance, sighing.
"Hey, easy, it's no problem, Darce." Griffith said, stooping down to help him out of his chair and into the car, all the while trying not to touch the cat. He was sure the cat would sense his distaste for her and would assault him based off of that. Once Darcy was in the car, he folded up the chair and put it in the back. "You've worked your ass off all day, you're tired, it's okay." He reminded Darcy as he reached into the car to tousle the teen's hair.
