Harper stood beside Dixon, putting a hand on her back as she reached down to pet the very cat Griffith was warning her not to touch. "Awh, what a pretty friendly baby." she crooned, looking her over. "Ohhh, honey, I sympathize..." she said, as she took in her size.

"You think so too?" Darcy asked, looking down at the cat.

"Definitely." Harper nodded, rubbing the cats ears.

"Harper! Baby! Stop touching that damn animal!" Griffith scolded, rushing over to the work bench where he had a small First Aid Kit set aside in the event someone (Dixon) got hurt. He dug inside and pulled out a bottle of hand sanitizer and rushed back over, reaching to pull Harper's hand away.

Harper blinked, startled as he did. "Why? What's with you? It's just a cat, baby. A sweetheart, at that."

"He thinks it's the devils spawn, just because its a cat and its a stray." Darcy huffed.

"I didn't say that, I said it was FILTHY, and it is. Look at it." Griffith corrected, slightly irked himself as he took Harper's hand, putting sanitizer on it before rubbing it in with his own hand. "I don't want you catching anything, I don't want our babies to catch anything."

"You act like it." Darcy mumbled in a pouting grumble, eying the cat sadly as he pet her gently.

"Okay, okay, everybody just relax." Harper said with a sigh, letting Griffith clean her hand. "I won't touch the cat but ease up, Griffith. You too, Darcy."

Griffith looked to Darcy, fighting back the urge to further snark off and defend his point as Harper was present now. He looked to Harper then.

"Listen, I don't want that thing in our house or nothin'." He said to her, finally letting her hand go.

"She's not a bad cat, she curled right up in my lap and everything!" Darcy tried to defend, looking at Harper and Griffith. "I'll take care of her myself, she just needs a little care and love!"

Harper frowned, looking between them.

"Darce, that cat is tore up from the fuckin' floor up, and we don't even know what diseases it may or may not have. I don't want it in the house with your sister and the babies. They're coming soon, you know?" Griff explained, trying not to sound like a total ass, although, he was sure it didn't matter what he said.

Darcy still looked upset but went quiet and looked back down at the cat, rubbing at her ears.

Harper bit at her bottom lip. "What if she's taken to the vet and checked out first, Griffith, huh?" she offered, trying to find some middle ground.

While Griffith wanted to veto the idea of the cat entirely, he knew that that wasn't exactly fair. The house was just as much his as it was Harper, Dixon, Flora, and Darcy's as far as he was concerned. He had opened his mouth to protest but instead sighed and jabbed his tongue, annoyed, at his inner cheek.

"Then we can talk." He conceded. "BUT ONLY if it's clean of any diseases, fleas, ticks, all of that. I'm not about to bomb our whole fucking house because of it and I'm certainly not about to let your health and our kid's well being get jeopardized."

"Okay then, after you guys eat, you take Darcy to the vet clinic in town and see if you can get in as a walk in." Harper said, raising her eyebrows at him for how sharp he was about the whole situation.

Griffith made a face, glancing at the gritty looking feline resting in Darcy's lap, before closing his eyes and letting out a drawn out exhale, nodding slightly.

"Fine." He said.

Harper nodded and reached to squeeze his hand. "Thank you, baby. I'd kiss your cheek but you look filthy too, you know." she teased, trying to lighten the air.

Darcy smiled a little. "Thanks guys." he said, hoping and praying the cat would get a clear bill of health.

"Mm." Griff uttered, clearly irked with the whole debacle, but not wanting to further it with an argument about how the cat was much dirtier and mangier than him. His jaw sat locked, lips pursed, and his brows furrowed annoyed over his gaze as he looked to the ground... much like a pouting child.

Harper shook her head with another slight sigh. "C'mon, Griffith, stop pouting and take the basket for me, would you?" She tried to distract him for the moment. "Lets just eat, hm?"
