Estella's blood instantly turned to ice in her veins. It had been a long time since she had heard that name, but it was not one she was likely ever to forget. It was the name of the man who had killed her father as well as the name of the man who was once thought to be Ian's own father. That name was like a plague and even hearing it spoken aloud felt like an ill omen.
She looked at the man, wide-eyed, before she swallowed a tight knot of anxiety and shook her head.
"I think you're mistaken. Anyways, I...I have to go now." She said, turning away to hurry after Mags. |

| Estella nearly tripped over her own feet in her haste to reach Magdalena, but once she reached the little girl, she scooped her up and clutched her close as she walked as fast as she could towards the bus stop. Her heart thundered in her chest and with one arm braced around her daughter, she reached for her cellphone and began flagging through her contacts with trembling fingers to get to Ian's number. She raised her phone to her ear and dared to look over her shoulder to see if the man was still following her. |

| Ian was just heading out of the bathroom from his quick shower, rubbing a towel through his hair as he hurried to where he heard his phones ringtone. He smiled when he saw Estellas name and picked it up. "Hey there, mamas. Walking back already?" |

Estella felt a burst of relief when she heard Ian's voice on the other end of the line, but her fear was not completely washed away.
"Ian, I need you to hurry over here. There's some man that followed us down here and he knows about Kasper and my dad." She quickly sputtered, looking over her shoulder for the man.
The bus pulled up to the stop and several children piled out, all squealing and darting off in direction of home. The last two kids off were Finn and Frankie, both of them grinning when they saw Estella, but Finn's grin quickly falling flat when he saw his mother's anxious gaze as she hurried over towards them. He grabbed up his little brother's hand and hauled him along.
"Mama, what's wrong?" He asked. |

As soon as Finn and Frankie were close enough, Estella tucked her phone to her shoulder and reached out to pull both boys close to her, smooshing little Magdalene between them and earning a whine.
"I-I don't know. I just hurried over to the bus and I lost sight of him a-a-and I have the boys. Everyone is here." She sputtered, her eyes darting around. The man wasn't immediately visible, but m she didn't want to assume safety and have him sneak up on them.
"Mama! What's wrong!" Finn asked, more insistent. |

"Nothing's wrong, baby. Dad's coming." Estella assured Finn, though the little boy didn't look convinced as he furrowed his brows and pursed his lips in an expression that was all too similar to one Estella made when she was frustrated. "Alright, just hurry, Ian."
"Put me down!" Magdalene whined as she began fussily wriggling between her mom and brothers.
"Mags, hold on, just a minute." Estella said, still looking around for the man or anyone else who could have been with him. |
