Noah had never really been in a relationship before. Part of it was because he grappled with his sexuality all throughout high school and part of it was because he was considered outlandishly geeky with his interests and schoolwork. Because he had no boyfriends in high school, he was able to graduate early and win honors. He got accepted into a pretty good school, got plenty of scholarships that made it easy for him to attend, and did well for himself overall.
But then he met Hadrian and Ulrich and he realized doing just “well” wasn’t enough and for the first time in his life he wanted to be in a relationship to make him feel better than just alright.
Things started out friendly and admittedly sexy, but time went on and things progressed into something more serious and romantic and after nearly a year and a half, Noah was realizing just how good life could really be when with the right people.
He had opted to skip his last class for the day and was heading back to the apartment he shared with his boyfriends to spend the afternoon with them and maybe go out for lunch at their favorite place. As soon as he reached the apartment door, he opened it up and made his presence known.
“Lucy and Lucy, I’m home!” He called. |

| "Welcome home, Jagiya!" Hadrian called from his place at the washer and dryer, sorting out laundry and getting a new load in the dryer and vice versa. "How was your day, mi amor?" he asked, smoothly switching between languages. |

“Good. I cut my econ class so I could come home sooner to be with you guys.” Noah said, kicking off his shoes.
“Hey, baby. You’ve got some mail on the table.” Ulrich called back from his own place on the balcony where he was leaving a few shirts to hang dry at his other boyfriend’s insistence. If he was the one solely responsible for laundry, everything would have been shrunk long ago. |

| “Ooh, what’d you make?” Noah asked, making a beeline for the mail first. It was a cluttered pile of all three of their mail, half of them ripped open and clearly read. He rifled through the pile until he found a few envelopes addressed to him. A few credit card statements, some junk, and then...an envelope from CalPoly. He immediately went still and quiet. |

Ulrich came back in when he heard Hadrian’s question to Noah. He furrowed his brows as he approached.
“Um...I...nothings wrong. I just...do you remember last fall when I applied for that program in California and never heard back from them?” He said, holding up the envelope then. |

| Hadrian looked at him as reassuring as he could, reaching up to pet at his cheek. "Hey, hey, it's alright.. if you want to wait, you can. Get something to eat and drink and then maybe you'll feel up to it?" |

| “Thank you.” Noah said before anxiously fussing with his hands. Ulrich frowned and went up behind him, gathering him up against his chest. He gently kissed right behind his ear and then looked to Hadrian in waiting. |
