"It's just so far and I'll be gone for so long a-and...I don't know how we could even begin to manage the distance." Noah choked then, his eyes re-wetting with tears when he saw Hadrian's.
"I...It is...you're right...but...I love you guys." Noah croaked, his cheeks instantly becoming wet with tears then. He reached up to grab Hadrian's wrist.
Ulrich's arms squeezed a little tighter and his own lips trembled as he fought back his emotions. His eyes still glistened although he managed to keep his tears in check for the time being.
Noah was not as composed as he let out a choked out sob.
Hadrian gave a little nod into Noah and wrapped his arm around him too. "Whate-whatever you decide, you know w-we support you all the way, right? As.. as long as you're happy."
It had been a couple of months since Noah had moved out to California and though it was to attend his dream school in a highly prestigious program, things hardly felt right since leaving Hadrian and Ulrich behind.
They ultimately decided to try a long distance relationship, after all, this program and move was only temporary and Noah had the fullest intention of moving back home when it was all said and done. It felt pointless to throw away such a good relationship when he could pick it right back up when he finally got home, however, even with that in mind, it was extremely difficult at times.
They tried to talk as much as possible, but between work and school for all three of them, schedules were individually and mutually chaotic. Sometimes he'd have to go days without hearing from either or at least one of them, sometimes they'd go even a week without hearing from Noah considering his workload. It was all met with understanding of course, after all, they'd all knew what they'd signed up for, but it was still disappointing and hard sometimes.
But last night felt...good...or maybe bad to Noah for some reason.
He went out to a bar with a group of students from class and decided he'd have a drink or two before heading back to his studio loft to embrace the fact he had no homework following all of his midterms. After his second drink he started feeling more of the alcohol than he thought he probably should have, head spinning and body swaying out of his control. He was just about to ask one of his friends to help call an uber when two sets of hands hefted him out of his perch at the bar, saying something to everyone about how they were going to help him get home safe. When he tried to look up at who was helping him, his brain felt woozy and all he could think was that someone must have called Hadrian and Ulrich to come get him. This thought elated and confused him because as happy as he was to see them and have them here with him, it was awfully silly of them to come all that way just to pick him up from the bar.
At first, Noah allowed the two of them to drag him along, figuring they'd just go back to his place and all crash, they could talk him the morning and he could tell them how happy he was to see them, but then it appeared that they had other plans. They led him to a neighborhood he didn't quite recognize and then into an alley. Almost as soon as they were off the street, they both began kissing and grabbing at him. He could remember, for whatever reason, that it didn't feel right and he tried to push himself away only to be grabbed with even more force. Hadrian and Ulrich had never been this aggressive with him, let alone hit him like they did then. His head was grabbed and fists struck him, someone grabbed his neck while the other hit his middle, and then as one of them spun him around and pinned him against the wall, the other proceeded to yank his pants down.
Even in his drunk haze, Noah could remember pleading with them, crying even, but they didn't stop and that's about where the memory became muddled, replaced by only the swell of fear and pain, sadness and agony.
Then, suddenly they were gone, he could vaguely recall someone else grabbing him, this time jostling him and yelling, then there was someone shining a light into his face, followed by his body being hefted up once again, then nothing until now.
What happened?
Noah let out a whimper of pain as he began to come to, his eyes squinched as he was blinded by a bright light above him. A hand reached out and gently touched at his wrist and he could hear someone beside him.
"Hey, hey, Noah, are you okay? Do you need me to get a doctor?" A soft and familiar voice asked. It sounded like Violet, a friend from his class, but he couldn't be sure as he still felt blinded by the light and even then in too much pain to turn his neck to look.
"N-no...no...I need..." His throat ached as he swallowed a large knot, causing tears to prick his eyes. "Hadrian...Ulrich...I need Hadi and Ulrich...are they here? Where...what happened?"

Violet Pavel, as well as several other friends, had been called by the police when Noah had been found. She was the first to arrive and then, eventually, the only one who remained when hospital staff insisted they clear out the room when it became crowded. The only reason she'd been allowed to stay was because the nurses and doctor thought it would be wise to have a familiar face whenever he came around to and because out of all of their friends she was perhaps the closest to him.
She'd stayed with Noah until he calmed down and dozed back off. She took the opportunity to take his phone to try and call his boyfriends since that was what he wanted it seemed. She stepped out and found Hadrian's number first and called him.
Hadrian rolled over in bed, fumbling for his phone on the nightstand as it obnoxiously buzzed against the wood. He continued his blind fumbling, his glasses falling off the nightstand which pulled a soft curse in Spanish from him before he smacked his hand down on the phone and then brought it close to his face, squinting at it.
He had gone to bed pretty early, exhausted from work and studies of his own but he had kept his phone on in the hope that maybe Noah would call him when he got in. He squinted at the name on the screen till and gave a small smile when he saw who it was, going to answer. "Mi Amor, are you home safe? I've missed you." he answered.
“Uh...sorry, um, this is Violet, a friend of Noah’s...is this Hadrian?” Violet asked, cupping her hand towards the phone when there was a particularly loud page in the hallway for a doctor.
“Um, this is...uh... this isn’t easy to say, but I’m calling from the hospital.” Violet said, worrying at her lip. “He was...um...asking for you and Ulrich. I...I know you guys are a ways away, but I think you should maybe, uh, try and make it out here.”
Ulrich has rolled over in bed and willed himself awake when he heard Hadrian on the phone.
“S’Noah?” He asked, sleep still garbling his words.
