Tessa let out another little breath from her nose as she measured her words.
"Lowell...I...I don't know if I can forgive you for everything yet. I know I made a bad choice by doing what I did, but...you really really hurt me when I tried to make it right. Between the way I was treated, like...I wasn't worthy of forgiveness, to the way you talked about me, especially those times when it was like I wasn't even there, I just...I can't forgive you right now." She explained quietly. "But," she reached over then to give his hand a squeeze, "you're my brother...and I will always love you and I will always have your back." |

"It's just going to take some time, bubby." Tessa said, letting go of Lowell's hand only to cup his cheeks with both of her palms while she leaned in to place a kiss at his forehead. "It's going to be alright though, okay? Eventually it's going to be fine." She smiled at her brother, turning to face the little grunts and whines from Max in his basket. She clucked her tongue at him and leaned over to collect him and all his fuss. "Maxy, you're okay, baby. You don't need to make a scene. There's been enough drama here today." She crooned at the dark haired baby.
Max looked back up at Tessa with a sharp frown and watery eyes, his little lips quivering with potential cries.
"Dad says that he looks like you and Digby did when you'd cry." She said. |
