| Rudy let go of Faye, going to step out in front of her with his weapon readied. He would kill or die for Faye, he wasn't going to let anyone take her without a fight. |

Faye stood in her designated spot, hair and dress whipping from the wind. Her face was stony though there was a crease in her brow that gave away just how anxious she was.
She thought a competition, a fight no less was absolutely ridiculous. She was the prize to be won and all she wanted was to go home with Rudolph, not watch some competition that left a bad taste in her mouth and a twist in her gut. She didn't trust Ricardo, not in the slightest. He was a cruel man full of trickery.
And it wasn't a single person here that sympathized with her, out of fear of facing Ricardo's wrath. There was no one to help her escape again, no one to talk to, no one to hide with.
Now there was just this competition. She glanced around to make sure no eyes were on her and moved to slip away as soon as the most recent match was over and Ricardo was declared the winner against some poor dude that was probably forced into it, just for the sake of it being a 'real competition.'
She was determined she was going to find Rudy at his tent, not be caught and hopefully convince him to stop fighting. She could think of much worse things than him losing. And it was him losing his damned life. |

Shortly after Ricardo stole Faye away from him, Rudy caught whisperings that there would be a competition in which the prize for the champion was Faye's hand in marriage. Rudy hardly thought that this was at Faye's suggesting from the get go, but almost as quickly as the news of the competition came also came rumors that the only reason this competition was to be had was because Faye had rejected Ricardo's efforts to wed and his honor was at stake. Rudy didn't think much of Ricardo's honor from the get go, but he did think that this would be the only opportunity he could get Faye back from him without causing any further feud between Ricardo and Rudy's respective clans.
He was going to bring Faye home and he would do so "honorably" this way.
He had finished a round of archery not that long ago and was getting suited up for another round of fighting before the finalists would duel hand to hand. He was helping one of his men tighten straps and align sturdy leather and metal pieces into place. |

Faye snuck her way past Ricardo's tent, pausing as she heard voices.
"This'll be the final match, currect sire?"
"Of course. As soon as I see a weakness, I'll run him through."
Faye felt her blood run cold and she rushed to find Rudy's tent, running head first into one of his right hand men. |
