"Daddy's taking Mama on a date." Dixon said. "We'll be talking about grown up stuff and we'll be kissing a lot. You don't want to be around for that." He said, settling Dixie into her bed.
Declan climbed into bed before promptly turning to Dana and pursing his lips for a kiss. |

"Ew, Daddy. Thass disgustin'." Dixie pulled a face, earning a little chuckle from Dana across the room.
Dana smiled at Declan then and gave him a sweet little kiss with a "mwah!" for dramatics, smiling. |

Dana smiled, helping him get tucked in and then handed him his stuffy. "There we are, sweet boy. All snug?" |

Dixon grinned and reached over to the little night stand that had their copy of one-a-night bed time stories. He proceeded to settle himself onto Dixie's.
"Yeh, snug." Declan nodded, reaching out to take the stuffy before extending his hand to Dana's stomach. "Babies snug?" |

Dixon chuckled a little at hearing Declan, but proceeded to settle in, reaching down to tuck Dixie in closer to his side.
"What story should we read?" He asked. |

Declan sat up to look passed Dana when he heard his name. He saw the book in his dad's hands and instantly lit up.
"Mermaid! Mermaid!" He chirped.
"The mermaid story? Dad likes that one too." Dixon said with a nod as he proceeded to flip through the book to find said story. |

Declan leaned against Dana, snuggling in, as Dixon started to read the story. Almost as soon as he finished the story, he could hear the doorbell and looked up.
"That's probably Auntie." He said. |

"I'll ask Auntie if she'll read you one more story, okay, baby? But Daddy's gotta get Mama and the babies some food, they're hungry." Dixon reasoned, leaning over to smooch at Dixie's face. "We'll be back later tonight, okay? Be good girl for Auntie."
Declan had long since fallen asleep and only gave a little whine when he felt Dana move. |
