Digby didn't think he had a bad childhood by any means. Even with his father's frequent absence, he never felt that he was lacking anything by any degree. He knew his father was always going to come home, he knew he only had to do his work before he did that. He also knew that when his father was home, he would always try to stay for as long as he could, although, sometimes, that wasn't nearly as long as his father wanted.
Just as Digby came to know these things about his father and their circumstance, he also came to know what it meant when that piece of shit Taurus was parked outside of the house.
It meant Dad was going away again.
Digby frowned tightly when he glanced out the living room window and saw the car and a man climbing out of it. He couldn't help but wonder what the hell he was doing there.
The man came up to the door and gave a "polite" knock, but Digby didn't budge from his perch on the couch. |

Lowell was sat tensely next to Digby, not moving either. "No way in hell." he muttered bitterly.
Harper sighed as she headed down the stairs with the laundry basket in arms. "Is no one going to get that?" she called. |

"No." Digby muttered, jaw tense as he glared at the man through the window.
Meanwhile, Griffith stiffly made his way from his office to the living room, giving both Lowell and Digby "swats" to the back of their heads.
"What's wrong with you two? Jeez, it's just the door." He scolded. |

"Jesus." Harper huffed and went to put the basket down so she could go answer the door. "It's alright, I wasn't busy for anything you two, thank you soooo much."
Lowell winced, rubbing at his head and continued to glare too. |

Griffith continued over to the door, meeting Harper there. Meanwhile Digby glared over the back of the couch now, looking at the door.
Outside, Benny was standing, his cheek darkened with a fresh bruise and his knuckles busted but bandaged. He looked as rough as Griffith used to whenever he'd come rolling in. |

Griffith stepped into view, brow furrowing when he saw Benny standing there.
"Ben?"
"Hey, Griff." Benny gave a wave. |

Griffith stepped up behind Harper, rubbing lightly at her shoulders.

| Harper looked rather upset still, stepping closer to Benny and pointing a finger at him, eyes narrowed. "So help me Benny, if you're trying to get him to work again, I'll hunt you down and you know I can and will." she hissed. "He's retired from that and you know it." |

Griffith frowned and squeezed at Harper's shoulders and leaned over to kiss at her cheek.
"Hey, easy, Mommas. I ain't going anywhere anyway." He assured. |

| Harper frowned, glaring daggers at Benny still as she leaned into the kiss. She gave a huff and kissed his cheek back before turning to storm back to the basket to go on a rampage with the laundry. Lowell glared hatefully the entire time at Benny. |

Griffith gestured for Benny to come inside, which he did.
"My office is over this way, we can talk in there." Griffith said, limping stiffly through the living room ahead of his former work associate.
Benny glanced over at the two twin boys on the couch and gave a little smile.
"Look at you two, haven't seen you guys since you were kids." He said.
Digby glared, jaw tight. |
