| Digby skittered away from the door quickly, going to flop gracelessly back onto the couch almost as soon as the door to the office began to open up, letting Benny and Griffith both out. |

| Lowell flopped in the armchair quickly, eyeing the hallway when he heard the footsteps. He bit at his bottom lip nervously, trying to figure out what the hell to do. |

"Well, it was short, but it was good seeing you, Griff. I'm glad you guys are doing good." Benny said as he came down the hallway, cocking a brow at the boys' new placement in the living room. And the tenseness from the two of them as he entered.
"Yeah, thanks." Griffith said as he continued to lead Benny out, not really keen on him at the moment. |

"Bye, Harper." Benny said, cringing slightly at her look and knowing full well he'd blown out his welcome for awhlie by showing up.
Griffith and Benny continued to the door and as Griffith opened the door to let Benny out, Benny turned to him.
"You know, I'm in town for the night, you should come by the hotel later, maybe we can have a few drinks or something, catch up. I'm staying at the Blue Moon Resort...if you could really call it a resort." Benny said to him. |

Harper narrowed her eyes at Benny still but didn't comment, not wanting to tell Griffith what he could and couldn't do when it came to friends but...
Lowell glanced over at Digby, frowning a little bit as he listened. |

| "Right...we'll see." Griffith said tensely before giving Benny a "goodbye" handshake and sending him off. As soon as the door was shut, he let out a drawn out sigh and curse, hobbling towards the kitchen, to Harper. |

Griffith opened his mouth to answer, but paused when he glanced over and caught Digby looking his way. He looked to Harper and frowned before gesturing for them to slip back into the kitchen.
"Not in front of the kids." He said quietly. |

Harper sighed and headed back into the kitchen, lips pursed tightly. That was enough answer for her. |

"I'm pretty sure you know what it's about." Digby muttered quietly, having been very familiar with his parents' previous spats about "work". It wasn't until the incident Digby began to understand what work was to some degree.
Griffith let out a sigh, reaching out to grab at Harper's upper arms, rubbing them gently.
"Don't be mad." He said to her. |
