Griffith dodged Harper's next attack and managed to loop one arm around her, however, as soon as he wrangled her that much, he realized how quiet it had become.
"Hey hey hey, hold up." He said to her, trying to coax her to stop for just a second.
"Could've confused me, pal." Bernie was the one who spoke, eyes narrowed like everyone else's, and much like all of his other fellow gang members, they were all glaring at Kasper. "I think we're done dealing with scum like yours today." He turned his back to Kasper and went to collect Lawson, who let out a wheezy protest.
"No, we'll keep going." He wheezed, flecks of blood falling onto his lips.
"No, we won't, not today." Bernie insisted, shaking his head as he stooped over to help Lawson up to his feet.
"Goddamnit..." Griffith uttered quietly before releasing Harper, breaking off into a dead sprint ahead of her.
With Bernie and Nicky's help, Lawson was hefted up to his feet and was dragged along, his associates tailing him and watching Kasper's group with keen eyes.
"This ain't over, Kasper, you know it ain't." Lawson called weakly as he was towed away towards where they'd entered.
Griffith didn't skip a beat in his sprint, not even when he stooped down to grab his bat where it'd been abandoned. As he came up on the "fighting grounds", he watched as his own group retreated, Lawson having to be CARRIED as they did so. His chest seized and he ran after them, his pace quickening as he called out, worried for his older brother.
"Kasper!" Harper shouted anxiously, running over and dropping down in front of him, wiping at the blood and trying to see the most of the damage. Most of his face was swelling up already. "Fuck!" she whispered, staring around at the rest of them. She was pretty sure Gavin might die from the way he was bleeding but that was just anxiety filled thoughts.
She looked at Baron and the gun on the ground and pulled a bitter face, not batting a lash at him again after that and got Marty to help her get Kasper up. Gavin took her spot in carrying him out with Marty and she ran ahead to get the truck.
After briefly fussing over Lawson's scuffed up appearance and the blood on his lips, and after having gotten swatted away and assured he was "right as a fuckin' thunderstorm", Griffith looked over his shoulder to the other group. He wondered if Lawson was this bad how bad Kasper must've been. The nature of his rubbernecking quickly changed though as he watched as the girl he'd fussed with the whole time tended fiercely to Kasper. He briefly wondered if they were an "item" or something. She seemed a bit young for him, then again...she seemed a bit young for this sort of life.
