Leila listened and nodded, she was unable to smile and let out a breathy little snort when she saw Jake's pouted lip. She reached over to give his bottom lip a little tug between her thumb and forefinger.
"Don't pout, you heard the doctor. No one was in danger, we're all fine. You don't have to beat yourself up." She assured him. "But also...you can come to me whenever. You're allowed to lean on me too." |

Leila turned her hand in his, twining fingers together.
"I'm not sure if anything I say can make you feel better about that, but I don't want you to dwell on it too much, Jake. You're here when it matters and you take good care of us. Of me." Leila nodded and gave his hand a squeeze. |
