Jake had to admit, it was weird being back in town after so many years. It was very bittersweet but not nearly as sharp as it would've been before, to see all the places he used to go to with his parents and his old friends. He wasn't sure why he decided to drive there on his day off all the way from base but here he was, driving by his old favorite spots. The arcade, the ice cream shop, the school and his old house. He pondered maybe knocking on Leila's old places door but he at the time didn't see any vehicles in the drive way and he had figured she must've moved away by now anyhow, rather just from getting older or at some point college.

Not that Jake would ever know what college was like anyways past that. When they had all moved and after high school (and a bit during), Jake was a wild child out of pure spite and just because he felt he could. If his parents weren't going to be there for him, why should he care?

He partied, he drank, he did a lot of stupid things but after Ein put an ultimatum and Nadia practically begged him to figure things out, he decided he'd had 'enough' of them and had moved out and ended up enlisting just to 'show them what' even though it ended up being more beneficial to them all really. It had straightened Jake out and given him a purpose, plus in the long run helped him repair his relationship with his family.

He'd made a couple of friends in his squadron and they had all told him there would be a party out in the old woods- old stomping grounds that was for high schoolers, if he remembered correctly. But apparently it had been turned into 'whoever threw whatever out there first' stomping grounds and there was some local band that was throwing a party out there and they had pretty much forced Jake to say he'd go.

So he figured why not look around town while he was at it. Come time for the party however, he headed straight there as promised, not dressed up of course but he made himself at least look attractive in a fitted white button up with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of jeans with his boots and his cowboy hat. He looked nice, not that he was particularly looking for anyone but some innocent fun flirting never hurt anyone.

He parked his truck and headed down the beaten dirt path to this area, waving to some of his squad mates when he spotted them in the growing crowd and went to head for the area where the drinks were to grab a beer.

Leila had never really been one for parties, but considering she had her audition for a chair in the New York City philharmonic coming up quickly, she felt like she needed to cut loose (or rather Pacifico thought she needed to cut loose, but that was neither here nor there). She been to only a handful of parties in high school, but she still knew the place everyone called Tin Man's House as it was the party spot amongst Demont's youth and like.

She definitely grew up to be someone to look at; pretty, petite, and a smile to die for. She was looking awfully pretty as she stood at a beer pong table, a solo cup tucked to her lips as she nursed at a beer (the same one she'd been sipping at since the start of the party) as she watched the match unfold. Pacifico was playing against someone they'd gone to high school and was piss drunk and losing terribly. She wondered if she should cut him off or maybe if Nicky would soon. She sighed into the cup and glanced up when she heard a ruckus of boys entering the clearing where the party was being held.

Jake took off his hat for a moment, running his hand over his crew cut blonde hair before putting it back on as he took a deep breath. He hadn't partied since his last big 'wild fit' so he was a little uneasy but he was sure it was going to be fine- obviously, he wasn't going to fuck up his career over this kinda thing. He'd leave as soon as things seemed too much.

He grabbed a cup himself, glancing around the crowd and pulled a face when he saw his friends already 'mingling' presumably with the girls that had invited them first and then glanced around for somewhere he might feel a little more fit.

Nicky moved over to Pacifico, putting a hand on his waist to lead him away. "Paci, you are hammered."

"NickNickNickyNickles...my love, I'm not drunk." Pacifico slurred, though he allowed himself to be led away.

Leila glanced when she saw that the "Dude Crew" had dispersed and had apparently partnered off...except for one tall drink of water. She cocked a curious brow as she watched from afar as he looked for somewhere to settle from the looks of it.

"PaciPaciPaciPacifico, my love, you are absolutely drunk and this is why I'm DD." Nick crooned, moving him over somewhere to sit down for now.

Jake glanced at the small, extremely attractive girl who seemed to be watching him and gave a friendly smile in return before glancing over her at the seemly very drunk guy and his friend or whatever and took a step back towards the drink table again, grabbing a bottle of water before starting over to the girl. "Looks like your friend could use this."

"Not drunk, no, no, no, I'm not....unless you count drunk on y'love." Pacifico joked, laughing a little TOO much as he was moved.

Leila laughed a bit and bobbed her head as the tall boy approached.

"Probably. he's had waaaaaay too much." She said.

"Yeahhh, he uh, he looks like it." Jake chuckled a bit, going to hand the water over to her while Nick got Pacifico sitting down somewhere.

"Mm, I mean, that's not too far off from how he usually acts." Leila said half-jokingly. "But thank you." She held up the water bottle and smiled.

Jake smiled in return, feeling his heart do a little 'thunk' in his chest at how damned pretty her smile was. "No problem." he hesitated for a moment before holding out his hand to shake. "I'm Jakob. Everyone calls me Jake though."

"Jake, huh?" Leila freed up a hand and reached out to take his. Jake was a common enough name she didn't really think about it. "I'm Leila."

"My squad mates, apparently..." Jake chuckled vaguely. "I.. holy shit, I thought you... It's- I'm the boy who lived next to you and we were best friends as kids, the Hunt family?"
