Six years...and counting.

That was how long that small-time hood, Lawson Fitz, had taken over as gang leader in place of Vicker Hausen, who was better known on the street as Violent Vic. In that time, the gang had definitely taken an odd, strangely moral turn, with the more violent members being cut out and certain policies being implemented and enforced. It was seeming less and less like a gang (permitted, they still conducted crime and brawled for territory as in the good old days)...and Ripley Hausen, Vicker's younger brother, did not like this.

Not.

One.

Bit.

Six years ago, Vicker had been arrested for the alleged murder of a one Ryan Crawson. He went with very little protest. He didn't argue his innocence, he allegedly accepted his guilt, didn't even bother with the plea bargain offered to him, which all led to a very easy conviction and a life-long sentence without a chance of parole.

While a great many thought it strange that such an infamous criminal would let himself go as easy as that, no one thought it as strange as Ripley, who felt as if he knew his brother better than the back of his own hand. He had his suspicions about the whole predicament, he had even gone through several theories, but none seemed truly practical until his last visit to the prison and Vicker made an oddly peculiar statement.

"If you see him around, tell Lawson I'm sorry about 'Nando and Cisco. I know it's been awhile, but...tell him."

At first, Ripley didn't understand what Vicker had meant, he didn't even know who 'Nando and Cisco were, however after doing some digging, not only did he find out who these people were, he found out who they were to Lawson, which led to a very...interesting investigation.

An investigation that not only let the cat out of the bag, but practically hurtled it out, and by God, if Ripley was going to have his hand in the matter, it was not going to end pretty.

Especially not for Lawson.

So there Ripley was, boots scuffing along the driveway and annoyingly humming to the tune of a German beer song his drunkard father would sing in his stupor before forcing himself onto whatever woman he managed to bring home that wasn't Vicker and Ripley's mother. He wore a wolfish grin, the secrets he would soon divulge hiding behind his teeth, as he approached the front door to the house, which, upon reaching, he knocked firmly at.

"Hallooooo, Kasper, mein freund! Open your door!" Ripley called out.

Kasper had been having a good day, really. He had taken his mother Harriet to go see family out of the state for the week and gotten back early this morning, Harper and Darcy were off doing whatever it was they did lately, which... well... he had his suspicions about.

And those would be dealt with in due's time, he was positive of that.

But it had been a good day, no Lawson, the house to himself, a beer and breakfast but that all came crashing down when he heard Ripley's fuckin' voice.

He felt his face twist into a scowl and got up, heading for the front door as he adjusted the bandana on his wrist and glanced out the window beside the door just to confirm his "fears", giving a cuss under his breath before opening the door.

"The fuck you want, Hausen? You got a lot of guts showing your face at my house." Kasper said, in a practical growl as he leaned in the doorway.

"Is that any way to greet your friend, Kasper?" Riply tsked, that wolfy smile still curling his lips. "You look good, mein freund. You've lost weight, yes?" He folded his arms over his chest, trying to show Kasper he wasn't intimidated despite his own slender, six foot frame. Between he and his brother, he definitely got the short end of the stick when it came to physique.

Kasper stared at him with tired annoyed eyes, tapping his fingers against the door where he held it. "Don't make me ask again, Hausen. I was having a great fucking day until your mug showed up."

Ripley gave a light, amused chuckle. He tilted his head to the side and continued on with that smile, one corner of his mouth curling farther to show a broken incisor.

"Oh, well, I'm sorry, but I can't promise what news I have will make your day...or ruin it. Or both perhaps. Knowing you, I hope it will make it." Ripley said then.

Kasper frowned, standing up straighter and crossing his arms then. Ripley was just like a wolf, staring down it's prey. "Get on with it then."

"Twist my arm, yes, yes, I'll get on with it." Ripley waved a hand and rolled his eyes, that stupid grin ever-present on his thin lips. "I recently went to see my brother, Vicker, in case you've forgotten." He shot Kasper a side-long glance, as if to gauge his reaction.

Kasper's jaw set and tightened, shoulders setting straight and tense at the name of his brother's murderer. "I haven't fucking forgotten." he said through his teeth, watching Ripley.

"Wundervoll." Ripley chuckled some as he spoke. "Well, you see, I went to see him, and he gave me a strange - well, strange for me - message to give to Lawson, who, I'm sure you also haven't forgotten as apparently you two are so perfectly in contact, ja? Anyhow, he told to send Lawson an apology in regards to 'Nando and Cisco, who I had NO clue who they were...until I did some digging." Ripley's eyes carried a sense of amusement at that as he looked to Kasper. "You were particularly 'close' to 'Nando and Cisco, weren't you?"

Kasper's eyes flashed at the names and he eyed Ripley a little more warily, wondering if he'd need to finish the job with the Hausen's. "What are you getting at, Ripley?" he snapped. If Ripley knew, it could be bad.

Real bad.

And Kasper wouldn't think twice about taking out a Hausen.

"What I'm getting at is that I know, Kasper." Ripley chortled. "I know you killed Fernando and Francisco Mendez because you thought they were dealing on your brother's turf. You killed those poor boys in cold blood and didn't so much as get an interrogation, ja?"

Kasper stared at Ripley before going to snatch out to grab him and yank him into the house, cursing loudly.

Despite being so aggressively handled, Ripley couldn't help but let out an amused cackle, reaching up to grab Kasper's meaty wrist, helping to support himself.

That same smile remained on his lips.

"You killed those boys! You killed them! You did it! Ohoho! Moreover, you got away with it!" He laughed.

Kasper yanked him inside the house and slammed the door and then slammed Ripley against that. "So what if I did fuckin' do 'em in?" he said in a snarl.
