Every gang has it's unwritten rules. For instance, in regards to the gang Lawson Fitz ran, they were under strict order to never harm women and children. Sure, there were times it was hard, especially with gang members getting younger and younger and gangs themselves becoming more inclusive in regards to the sexes, but still, nonetheless, this was a rule they tried to adhere to. For Los Muertos, another gang in town, they had a rule to never miss church on Sunday, they also didn't conduct their "business" on God's day. Each gang had their little quirky rules, however, there was one rule that adhered to every gang despite their alignment:

Peace Piper Horton's was peaceful grounds.

Which was why there were so many different gang members all gathered up there tonight for one of Peace Piper's famous bonfire/get-togethers. Most of the time, Griff and a few of the boys would all come together as a unit, but with most of them recovering from their last brawl, Griffith was alone tonight. He didn't particularly mind being alone, as he found company in Peace Piper, who was actually the older brother of one of his high school buddies, and superfluous amounts of alcohol and fireside barbeque.

Currently, Griffith was roasting a hot dog by the fire and throwing back a beer with Peace Piper sitting beside him, hyucking it up with some other gang members. Sure, Griff would have probably preferred to kick it with Piper alone, he wasn't necessarily having a bad time.

There was definite room for improvement for his night though.

Harper took a deep breath as she fidgeted with her jacket sleeves and went to push open the fence gate and head in. She never really went to parties, ever really. But somehow her and Peace Piper had become friends and that led to her being invited.

Which was new to her and ultimately, frightening. She didn't know anyone else, she couldn't and wouldn't, bring Darcy and Kasper was still kaput from the last fight. She shoved her hands in the back pockets of her jeans and started over, stomach stirring uneasily.

She knew there would be other gang members and she was still pretty new to this all, she didn't know what to expect at all but she wasn't going to freak. She was determined not to. "Piper." She called slightly, heading over to them.

Peace Piper was in the middle of a rather exciting and expressive conversation with a gangly looking teen, who looked to be less interested than Peace Piper probably wanted him to be, when Harper approached. Being as perpetually wrapped up in his own world as he was, he was fairly oblivious to her approach, however...Griffith was not.

Griff had just pulled his hot dog out of the fire and was giving it several test squeezes to make sure it was cooked through when he looked up to see Harper. Of course, it wasn't strange to see any of Kasper's guys at Peace Piper's get togethers, however, it was somewhat strange for Kasper's gal to be there. Stranger still was how they kept running into each other.

Harper looked a bit awkward but found an empty seat and plopped into it instead of waiting for Peace Piper to eventually answer or notice her. She didn't know anyone else here and she wasn't the best at starting conversations.

She looked around at the crowd quietly before spotting Griffith. Ah shit.

I know that look, Griffith thought to himself with a snide snort as he watched Harper's face cringe every so slightly. He shook his head and went back to his hot dog, placing it back into the fire.

"You know we ain't gotta fight here." He sang-song at her.

"Never said I wanted to." Harper sang-song back to him, leaning back in her chair tiredly. She looked a bit startled when someone handed her a beer randomly but gave an awkward thank you and went to take a drink.

"Didn't have to, the idea's all over your face." Griff looked to Harper and tapped at his cheek for emphasis, a "sour" frown on his face to mimic the bitterness in her expression.

"If you're a mind reader, you're a really shitty one. You're just irritating." Harper hunched her shoulders up and huddled in her jacket.

"Touched that I, of all people, have the luxury of knowing just where you keep your goat." Griffith snorted, pulling the hot dog from the fire. He gave it another test squeeze and deemed it edible before placing it on a readied bun in his lap.

Harper shrugged slightly and watched, trying to get used to it all. This was brand new for her. She sipped at the beer and moved to tuck her legs into the seat with her, letting down her hair as she felt a minor headache creeping up on her from the ponytail. "Sure, if considering that makes you happy."

"Making you and yours miserable brings me immeasurable happiness." Griffith said, however, as he thought about it, he wondered if that was really true. Part of him, and a very good part of him, considered perhaps that maybe it wasn't true, at least... in regards to Harper.

Harper frowned and shook her head, looking away as she sipped at the beer, trying to figure out what to do. She wasn't good at sparking conversations, at all. "Right. Enjoy that then."

"I will." Griff said, regaining a bit of smugness, only to have it snatched out from under him when he looked over at Harper and noticed just how different she appeared to be when she was ALONE versus with Kasper or the rest of their rowdy brood. She was quiet and almost seemed, well, nervous. Looking back to the whole interaction at the grocery store (PRIOR to Dixon and Darcy causing trouble), he could recall her acting very much the same and suddenly...it didn't seem very much fun at all to pick on her.

He clicked his tongue in his mouth, looking down at the hot dog. He ripped it in half, bun and all, and proceeded to lean passed Peace Piper and his victim, offering half of it to Harper.

"Here, feed you and your goat." He said to her.

Harper blinked and looked at the half of the hotdog being held out to her and gave him an almost suspicious look but took it. "Uh.. thank you." she muttered, flushing slightly and sat up properly to eat. "Why?"

"Why what? Offer you food?" Griff cocked a brow.
