It had been about two weeks since Elliot found out that he had a son and in that few weeks, he had definitely stepped up his game more than most new dads did in a lifetime. He'd turned in the DNA test, which proved without a doubt that he was in fact Dally's father, and then he and Rory had met with a legal mediator of sorts to figure out a custody and child support agreement. While Elliot was undeniably bitter towards Rory still, their meetings were surprisingly civil and therefore went without a hitch. They agreed on a 50/50 custody agreement, although, Dally would probably be staying with Rory more until he was a bit older. Regardless of him spending most of his time with Rory, Dallas was often packed up and taken to Elliot's house or another agreed upon meeting place for a few hours a day after he was off work. He usually was accompanied by Rory's mother, one time Stephen even came, which Elliot appreciated. While of course he wanted some time alone with his son, he was grateful to see Rory's mam and brother too.

Currently, he was waiting at a cafe for Rory's mother to show up for some time with Dally. He had been waiting for a little while now and was beginning to wonder if he'd been "stood up".

Rory pushed the cafe door open, looking flushed and honestly, nervous. Her mother had completely forgotten that Stephen had a club thing going on today after school that needed parents there as well, so in the end, Rory was the only one left to be able to bring Dallas to visit Elliot, as promised.

She took a few deep breaths, cleared her throat slightly and started over towards where she could see Elliot. "Uh, hey." she greeted, awkwardly. "Mom and Stephen are both tied up and I figured you wanna see Dallas so..."

"Oh...uh...hi." Elliot said, blinking as he had moved on from the face-making phase of things. He was still pretty upset with Rory, but he had realized that no matter how upset he was, it wasn't going to change things. Rory was Dallas's mom, she'd always be his mom. Just like she'd always be the girl Elliot loved once.

Once.

"Yeah, I do, so, um...thanks." Elliot nodded moving to go collect Dallas, grinning at the baby boy as he did so. "Hey buddy." He cooed.

Dallas gave several loud coos and a happy little gurgle upon seeing his father and then nuzzled his face into Rory's shoulder, still cooing loudly.

"He just woke up from his usual car ride nap." Rory said, rubbing his back.

"Whatever puts him in a good mood." Elliot gave a smirk at the coos. He reached over and lightly pet at the back of Dally's hair. "So...I'm assuming you're just gonna sit in for your mom, huh?" He asked Rory, glancing up at her.

Rory nodded. "Yeah. Stephen has a parent and kid meeting thing today with his club and we all completely forgot, so..."

"Mm, it's alright. Whatever works so I get to see him." Elliot nodded. "Can I have him?" He asked then.

"If he'll let you, he's been super clingy to me all day." Rory admitted with a tiny smile, going to try and switch Dallas to Elliot's arms. Dallas gave an upset grunt.

"Hey, Squeaky, c'mere, huh? Dad has some stuff for you." Elliot crooned at the baby.

Dallas gave an upset whine and took some sharp inhales but curled his fingers into Elliot's shirt, his lip jutted out.

"Hi, sweet boy." Elliot crooned, moving to sit down. He had an oversized tote bag with him, which he reached into to pull out a fuzzy blanket, which he lifted up to Dally, rubbing it softly against his cheek. As he waited for a reaction, he looked up at Rory and gestured to the seat across from him. "You can sit. Order something too." He said.

Rory sat down. "Oh, I'll just order a drink. I was eating when Mom called to say she couldn't come bring Dallas." she admitted, watching Dallas coo quietly at the touch.

"You sure? Your mam really likes the chocolate croissants, says they're to die for." Elliot suggested. He and Rory's mom had come a couple of times when Dally was brought to visit.

"Mm, maybe then. I could order two and take one back for her." Rory said, glancing at Elliot then.

"I'm sure she'd like that." Elliot nodded as he proceeded to place the corner of the blanket into Dally's grasp so he could feel the blanket for himself.
