The situation was not, a young man that lives with two other legal adults and two teenage boys, looking to adopt his sister." The judge started at him, not amused. "The judge before me made a critical, though good hearted, error that I will not repeat." |

Harper's did as well, arm tightening around Coco a bit as she looked at the judge again.
The judge gathered his files together. "I've heard and seen enough. I'm granting Griffith Fitz full custody of Coco Fitz with no visitation rights for Kevin and Mallory Varnum. Mister Fitz, details will be disclosed to you at a later time. Court is adjourned." he declared, knocking the gavel down. |

Griffith could hardly contain himself as he scrambled for his seat, turning around, only to throw himself over the small divider that split up the court floor from the back. He landed shakily on his feet on the other side, rushing over to Coco, who's face had broken into a wide grin as she clung tight to Harper.
"I get to stay?" She asked, looking up at Harper and then to Griffith as he hurried over to snatch her up into his arms greedily.
"Yes! Yes! You get to stay with us, Coco!" Griffith laughed giddily as tears fell from his eyes. "You get to stay with us!" |

| Harper reached up to wipe at her eyes quickly too with a wide smile, looking up at them. "Oh thank god." she breathed, feeling nothing but relief as she went to get up to stand beside them, not paying the Varnums one more second of her time. |

"Oh, Coco, I'm so happy...I'm so happy you get to stay with us." Griffith crooned, far from being contained emotionally. He wore a happy smile, however, he continued to let sniffles and tears. "I promise, things are going to be so much better, Coco, we're going to make everything so much better for you."
Meanwhile, Dixon had clambered from his own seat and skittered on over as well, nudging his way into the embrace of his brother and sister, the both of them making room in the hug to accommodate him. |

| Harper reached over to rub Griffith and Dixon's backs gently and kissed Coco's temple before reaching up to wipe at her eyes again. "So much better, lil' one." Harper agreed, sniffling a bit. |

"We're going to take such good care of you, and love you so much, Coco, I promise, I promise." Griff uttered, listening as Coco let out tiny little snivels herself. He could feel as she nodded her head agianst his shoulder while trying to worm her arms around his neck, feeling at home for the first time in a long time.
"We love you, Coco." Dixon said, sniffling as well. |

Harper wiped at her eyes and pet Coco's hair gently from where she was.
"C'mon guys, they need us to clear the court room." Darcy called to them, moving to get back into his wheelchair. |

"Y-Yeah, alright, let's go, yeah?" Griffith said, pulling Coco away from him just enough to look down at her. He grinned down at her through his tears, tears she was quick to reach up and wipe away for him.
Meanwhile, Dixon was the one who reached out to do the same for Coco.
"Got something there, kid." He crooned, earning a little giggle.
Griffith looked at the clock hanging on the far side of the room.
"Hey, it's still pretty early, why don't we go out and get lunch, save Harper some hassle today." Griffith suggested, reaching for Harper's hand then. |

"Please." Harper huffed, reaching up to wipe at her own cheeks, one hand going back to her back. "Our children are killing my back."
"Maybe you need the wheelchair, Harp." Darcy said, sympathetically.
"Tempting." Harper gave a small chuckle, reaching for Griffith. |

"Mmm, I'll carry her wherever she needs to be if I have to." Griffith smiled, settling Coco down onto her feet before he reached over to grab at Harper's hand, his fingers tangling with hers. "Coco, tell us where you wanna go, your choice." He smiled.
Coco was only on her feet for a moment before Dixon hefted her up into his own arms, swaying her legs from side to side with a giggle.
"Can we get pizza?" She asked.
Griffith nodded.
"Pizza would be great." He said. "Alright everyone, let's roll out." |
