Oliver gave a respectful little bow, biting at the inside of his cheek anxiously before going to open his mouth to say hello.

"I told her to bring him." Soo Mi spoke up from behind Coda as she stepped out of the sliding doors, drying her hands on her cooking apron.

Coda spun to look at Soo Mi, confusion and a rare expression of anger warring on his face.

"Why?" He asked Soo Mi, before realizing the question was better suited for his sister and her guest. "Why did you bring him?" He asked.

Elise's jaw stiffened and she felt like a little girl being scolded by her older brother again. She knew that by nature Coda was very well meaning. He had the kind of face that was so clearly born for smiling and the warm and kind disposition for that. But she didn't care if his bitter apprehension towards Oliver was him looking out for her, she knew it was misplaced. However well Coda thought he knew Oliver, she knew what was in his heart better than anyone else.

"Because I wanted to formally introduce him to everyone, oppa. Oliver and I are dating." She explained, giving Coda a meaningful look when she watched his face and ears go red with frustration, eyes shooting down towards Seung Wook as if to remind him of the little boy.

Coda's jaw clenched so hard in keeping his anger to a minimum that he was sure he could pop a molar as his gaze shifted from Elise to Oliver.

Oliver felt the knot of anxiety growing in his chest but he turned to Elise and said quietly. "Maybe you should take Seung Wook in and... let him say what he needs to say."

Soo Mi frowned at the look of anger but steeled her face, going to head over to Elise and Oliver.

Elise turned on Oliver, making a little face at him.

"What? No. If he has something to say to you, he can say it to me too." She said, looking to Seung Wook then, who looked confused but ultimately unbothered by the exchange. "Seung Wook, me and this ahjussi need to talk to Appa for a minute, do you think you can go with Eomma and help finish getting dinenr ready before Samchon and everyone else gets here?" She asked.

"Hm? But you just got here, Gomo." Seung Wook pouted.

"We will be in to play soon, okay?" Oliver promised with a small smile. "Just a quick conversation."

Seung Wook let out a little annoyed whine, but sulkily pat at Elise's arm to set him down and he turned to his mother with a little pout on his face. He reached up for her hand to "begrudgingly" make his way back towards the house.

Soo Mi scooped him up instead and blew a big raspberry against his cheek as she carried him in.

Oliver smoothed down the front of his shirt as he took another deep breath and glanced at Coda again.

Coda waited until he was sure Soo Mi and Seung Wook were out of earshot, but even then stepped closer to his sister and Oliver to make sure he wouldn't be heard.

"I thought we told you to stay away from him, Ye Rim." Coda whispered harshly to his sister, gaze seething as his stare was directed towards Oliver. "I don't want you getting wrapped up in his trouble."

Coda had become aware of Oliver and his reputation first by the way of the celebrity gossip circle. He was known to be a pain in the ass to work with and somewhat snotty. From what Coda could parse, his onstage persona of the haughty bad boy was very much his personality. That alone would be enough reason to urge his sister away from him, but it was what he'd learned from their brother Tanner was what made him more heated in that urging. Apparently, Oliver had quite the track record with the police and between that and his personality, he was a breeding ground for scandal.

"You did tell me that, but I don't have to listen to everything you say, Kang Dae. I'm not four years old anymore, I can do what I want to do and see who I want to see." Elise said, reaching up to loop her arm around Oliver's. She squeezed tight to him. "I don't know what you've heard about him, but whatever it is, it's wrong and you'd see that if you got to know Oliver oppa like I do."

"Oh I know Oliver quite well." Tanner said, from behind Coda now, his family having shown up just a bit ago. His voice was hard and he had the Fitz glare going as he looked at them. "Seeing as I'm the one who busted him and arrested him."

Coda let out a breath of relief at finally having some reasonable back-up with Tanner's appearance while Elise let out an annoyed groan and rolled her eyes.

"Haneul, please. Whatever you busted him for was probably just a misunderstanding." Elise said.

"Oh, so the drugs I found in his possession was a misunderstanding? Or was it the resisting arrest?" Tanner shot back, brows furrowed tightly. "Or is it the multiple coworkers that I have had thats had the misfortune of dealing with him, or being ghosted by him on dates. I didn't say to stay away from him just for being a hardass brother, Elise. I meant it as a cop, a brother, a father and a decent human being."

Oliver bit his bottom lip hard, fighting back the need to defend. "...Mr. Hanuel, sir, if I could just-"

"Speak when spoken to." Tanner said coldly. "I'm speaking to my sister right now."

Elise's eyes went wide at Tanner and she promptly stepped forward to close the gap between herself and her brothers. Despite having inherited their mother's height, it did not stop her from stepping up toe-to-toe with Tanner.

"Ya, you will not talk to him that way, Tanner Fitz." She spat in English, her words taking on a harsh edge as she looked up at her older brother defiantly. "I don't care what his criminal record looks like, you will speak to him like he is a human being. Unless you think Grandad deserves to be spoken to like that, or uncle Ian." She said, reminding him that some of their most beloved relatives had a history with the law.

"I am speaking to him EXACTLY how he has spoken to me and Coda. To the crew members, service workers, you name it, I've SEEN it." Tanner said firmly. "He thinks he is better than anyone else on this damn planet, Elise!"

"Hes right." Oliver cut in quickly. "I've- I am a completely spoiled asshole and I have a lot of growing up to do." He spoke quickly. "And my defense when I get uncomfortable is to hurt and push other people away because of past things and Elise has made me realize that and I'm sorry."

"See! People can change, Tanner! He's made mistakes just like anyone else and he's been hard to make himself better!" Elise said, gesturing at Oliver. "We've been seeing each other for months now and not once has he-"

"Months?" Coda jumped back in, looking between Elise and Oliver then. "For months? Elise, you've been sneaking around with this guy all this time?"

Elise rolled her eyes.

"I haven't been sneaking around, Coda. I'm a grown woman, I can see who I want to see." She explained. "We just recently made it official though and I thought now that we were for real dating I should bring him to meet you formally and we could talk like civilized people because we have to make this relationship," she gestured between all of them, "better. Now."

"What do you mean we have to?" Tanner scoffed. "I can't believe everything I just said to you didn't register, Elise! He's no good!"

"If... I-"

"I trust you are a grown adult and can take care of yourself, but I do not trust this CHILD thats using you! What happens when he brings drugs around you, huh? Just an honest mistake then?"

"I've never done drugs!" Oliver blurted out then, upsettedly.

"Bull. Shit."
