| "I'm okay. They gave me some medicine to help take the edge off. The babies are okay too. The doctor said that there were no drops in heartrate and they looked perfectly healthy." Leila explained. She reached out for Jake's hand and pressed it to the side of her belly where little flutters could be felt. "We're okay." She smiled again. |

| Jake let out a shaky breath of relief, flexing his fingers against her stomach gently as he took a deep breath back in through his nose. "I am so sorry, Lee. I should've been there." he murmured. "We'll talk later?" he asked, wanting to step aside for her family. |

"Okay, don't go far." Leila nodded with a little smile, letting go of Jake's hand just as Thomas came over and immediately began fawning over his youngest.
"You silly girl, you had us so worried." He crooned at her as he leaned over and kissed her forehead.

After everyone got confirmation that Leila and the babies were alright, Thomas and Grant left to go get Jake's truck for him (Grant only complying begrudgingly since Thomas ratted him out to Leila and she scolded him). Once they dropped off the truck at the hospital, Jake and Leila signed discharge papers and headed home.
Once home, Jake helped Leila back to her bedroom, moving slow and cautious like, as if the slightest movement would cause Leila pain. Once she was back in bed, she looked up at Jakob, reaching for his hand. She ran her thumb over the back of his palm.
"Thank you." She said to him, offering him a soft, tired smile. |

| "'Course." Jake said, down on his knees by the bed. He gave her hand a little squeeze, worried lines still on his features. "The doctor said somethin' about therapeutic pillows so I'm gonna look online about getting those ordered. But for now... you should sleep, okay?" |

| Jake leaned into the affection a bit. "Should I maybe sleep on the couch in here, just in case?" he asked, not sure honestly if he was asking for her sake or his own peace of mind. |

| "I think I'd feel a bit better if you slept in here, but the loveseat won't be too comfortable for you." Leila said, her cheeks pinking at her next words before she could even speak them. "There's room in the bed...you can sleep next to me, I don't mind." |

| Jake's own face flushed a little, eyes a little surprised. "Are you sure, Lee? I know I'm a giant and I totally steal the blankets..." he joked, trying to keep it all light hearted and relaxed as he could. |

| Jake gave a small smile as he clambered back up to his feet, going over to turn off the room light and slip his shoes off before going to very gently and carefully climb into the bed by her, cheeks a little pink again. |

It took a little effort, but Leila grabbed at her belly and proceeded to roll over to face Jake. Sure, they were going to sleep, but there was no reason they couldn't talk until they dozed off.
"Your face is pink." She teased, though her own cheeks were also warm. |

| Jake bit at the inside of his cheek. "...Nightmare. I... came to get you but... I just wanted you to sleep. Sleep good, not worryin', so... I went out for fresh air, just went down to the station. Was gonna get you some juice and somethin' to calm my nerves. Never doin' that again." He huffed, frustrated with himself as he pouted his lip a bit in a grump. |
