It'd been several months since Leila last saw Jake, and even then, that visit was brief at best, though it was apparently just long enough for Leila to find herself pregnant. She told Jake by the way of cheesy Skype call, something that surely would have been viral if Leila had recorded it, and though he wasn't there physically, Leila had made sure to keep him as involved as possible by Skyping and facetiming often and sending him what sonograms and pictures she sensibly could. But despite trying to keep Jake as involved as possible, towards the end of her pregnancy Leila was struck with one more shocking revelation by the way of surprise twins and that was something she wanted to surprise Jake with (and maybe record it this time).
She was hopeful that Jake would make it home before the babies were born, after all, he was due for leave mere weeks before she was planned to pop. Unfortunately, given Leila's small stature and her babies being, well, Jake's, they had to schedule a c-section before she could get any bigger. She told Jake it was just precaution, which it was, but she still kept it a secret that it was an even bigger precaution given she was carrying one extra load.
She gave birth two two perfectly healthy babies, a boy and a girl. She had told Jake she'd only had a son, after all, that's what they were expecting in the first place. He was none the wiser, even as he'd seen both babies in different (individual) pictures.
But today the jig was finally going to be up. He was coming home.
Leila and their babies had just been released a few days prior and though she was supposed to be on "strict bed rest" Leila still milled about her and Jake's home doing some minor tidying while she waited for Ein to bring Jake home from the airport. |

Ein pulled the truck into the drive way, chuckling as he watched Jake spin around quickly to grab his things from the back seat. "Thanks for the ride Uncle Ein, I'll see you later." he said in a rush.
"Hey hey, slow down. I'm comin' in too." he scoffed with another chuckle.
Jake made a noise of acknowledgement and went to hurry to get out of the truck, shutting the door loudly in his rush while Ein piled out too. |

| Leila glanced up when she heard Ein's truck and practically lit up like Fourth of July. She hastily waddled her way over to the living room to check on Ellie and Ben as they were bundled up and nestled together in their baby basket, she then hurried back over to the entryway hallway to wait for Jake. As she stood there, she looked herself over in a nearby mirror and fussed with her hair a bit. |

Ein headed for the door while Jake hefted up his bags, going to knock to give Leila warning.
Jake hurried over to catch up quickly. |

| Leila could see it was Ein's silhouette in the glass of the door and she gave an antsy little wiggle, beaming as she waited for Jake's form to join him. |

| Jake dropped all his bags on the floor and gently wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. "Mm, I'm so so happy to be hooome." |

| "I'm happy you made it here." Leila smiled, nuzzling into Jake's neck. In the midst of all their schmoozing, a squeaky cry came from the living room. At least one of their babies was awake. |

| "Mm, must be as happy as me to have you home." Leila smiled, glancing over to Ein as Jake pulled away. She gave him a subtle knowing look before grabbing Jake's hand and giving it a little tug in the direction of the living room. "C'mon, you gotta meet him." |

Ein chuckled, grabbing his phone to start filming once he was sure Jake couldn't see him.
Jake squeezed her hand and went to followed quickly, shaking from excitement admittedly. |

Leila gestured to the baby basket perched on the floor near the glider in the living room where she could see some antsy wriggling inside.
"Dad better go get him." She said, gesturing for Jake to go gather his "baby". |
