Digby fidgeted at the question, not wanting to give an answer that would incite any anger and the possibility of being turned away. |

| Lowell looked uneasy still but went to go pick a table to sit at, pulling out a seat for Digby beside him and then going to sit down. |

Digby took the seat, scooting it even closer to Lowell's as his brother had always been his comfort one, and anxiously began fidgeting with his hands as he watched Griffith.
Griffith noted the tension in the room and as soon as he took his seat, he reached up and began tugging at his ear, a little nervous habit of his. He waited for everyone to get situated.
"So...um...tell me...what do you boys want to know?" He asked, though, he was sure he already knew. |

Sure enough, Digby was already anxiously tugging at his ear, stopping when he glanced up and saw Griffith doing the same.
Meanwhile, Griffith took a deep breath and stopped his tugging, but not because he saw his son doing the same. But because it was time to speak now.
"Well...I'm...your dad." Griffith started, licking at his lips. "I was born and raised here in Shelbyville, in that same house you two found actually, which might be why it was...I'm assuming easier to find me. Me and my brothers had to relocate a long time ago when my parents, your grandparents, passed away. We moved to Faulkner...which is where you two were born." Griffith paused, briefly recollecting the day his boys were born. God...he'd been so foolishly happy. "I met your mother there through certain...events. We both were very much involved in the wrong crowds, even worse, involved with crowds that hated each other, but we...well, made it work enough. We weren't a couple until after we found out we were pregnant with you two, we just couldn't be, but between the time we found out and the time you two were born, we were together and we were happy...we were so fuc-we were very happy about you two." |

Griffith frowned and gave a little shake of his head.
"I...can't really explain a lot, you have to understand th-"
"N-no, we don't. We don't have to understand shit. Lowell's right, you OWE us an explanation." Digby interrupted.
Griffith's brow quirked together.
"I...you won't understand, I don't think, but okay...um..." Griffith took a shaky breath. "We...got involved in gang work and...the man your mom worked for tried to...when he found out that I was your father, he tried to kill me and he threatened to kill you too." Griffith looked up at the boys, hoping for some understanding before he proceeded. "We couldn't...we couldn't let that happen to you both." |
