Darcy watched little Haleigh play around in her play pen near the sofa as he lounged out on the sofa. He was feeling rather sleepy though he knew he needed to keep an eye on Haleigh since Coco was out and about in town.
Everything was pretty content in their house. Darcy had a good veterinary job, Coco was happily being a mother to Haleigh and all was good.
For that moment however?
It was about to be hell.
Darcy picked up his head when he heard a knock and sighed, hefting himself up. "Daddy will be right back, lil' angel." he crooned to Haleigh as he got up. |

Things had been fantastic for the little Hunt-Fitz clan, especially from little Haleigh's perspective. She never went a moment "wanting", as she always had everything she could possibly want in the way of endless love from her parents and a very cushy lifestyle for a one and a half year old.
Haleigh looked up at her dad, blinking wide blue eyes up at him before she toddled over to the edge of her play pen, letting out a squeal.
"Da! Da! Da!" She squealed at him, waving her hand. "Ba da!" |

Darcy smiled and went over, scooping her up and kissing her cheek before going to carry her to answer the door. He headed over, opening it up without looking like he usually did. "He-...oh fuck no." his lip curled in disgust as he recognized the two almost immediately.
"Darcy, baby boy!" his mother, who was definitely showing her age, exclaimed dramatically as she went to throw her arms around him.
"Ag-no- get off of me, what the hell are you two doing here?" Darcy sputtered, pushing her away as his father scowled slightly.
"Don't push your Ma, Darce. Who's this little gal, eh? Another grandbaby?" |

| Haleigh, being as social as she was, didn't shy from the two people standing in the family threshold, in fact, she raised her hand and waved (as her mother had taught her to do) and she cooed loudly, as if to greet. |

"Ah, look at her, she's a darling!" His mother crooned, reaching for her. Darcy stepped back sharply, glaring.
"Don't. You both need to leave, now." he said firmly, going to step back in to shut the door or at least put it between them since he knew his father's ways.
"We can't even see our grandchild? Harper already has a restraining order against us! This isn't fair! What've we done?!" she sputtered.
"What- you've done A LOT! You were the shittiest parents to fucking exist!" Darcy glared still and jumped slightly when his father slammed his hand against the door to try and push it back open.
"Ay, boy, don't you talk to us like that! Do I need to teach you res-"
"Fuck you." Darcy said firmly before going to try force the door shut. |

| Haleigh let out a disturbed scream upon the kerfuffle occurring. She turned to hide her face into Darcy's shoulder, whimpering against him. |

| "You need to leave or I'm calling the cops!" Darcy said firmly as he managed to wedge the door shut and went to lock it quickly. "I'm gonna call the cops!" he called through the door, stepping away from it with Haleigh quickly. "Shhh, baby girl, shhh, it's okay, Daddy's sorry, shhh..." |
