When they'd gotten back to the house, Flora had laid into Lawson, screaming and yelling at him for a good hour. Griffith was sure if she wasn't pregnant that it would have for sure turned into a physical altercation. However, despite all that yelling and screaming...Lawson didn't change his mind and remained firm on going out to the junkyard.
So, that was why everyone who was at the diner that morning, Dixon and Flora exempt, was waiting outside the junkyard now, listening and waiting for Kasper and his group to show up. |

"This is fucking stupid." Harper muttered under her breath to herself as they moved into the junkyard and towards where others could be heard. Of course, they had no chance of sneaking up because of their scent.
However, Harper had been sent in ahead of the rest so she could 'spy' on the group. She was the fastest runner and the lightest.
Sometimes she felt like bait because of that. |

"This wasn't a good idea, Lawson." Griffith scolded quietly. "Flora's close to popping and doesn't need you to be stressing her out like you do." He added.
"Yeah, well, those hunters need to be shown that can't just kill us off." Lawson said.
Griffith frowned and shook his head. He hated when Lawson got all righteous, throwing out concern for himself out the window. He hated it more these days because it wasn't just about him anymore, but also his little family, a family that couldn't survive without him. |

| Harper took a deep quiet breath as she headed up to the area where she could hear them talking, rocks shifting underneath her feet as she crouched, trying to count how many she could see or hear. |

"Well what're you going to do when someone kills you off and you can't take care of that baby Flora's got on the way, huh? You told her you'd protect her and the baby, that's what you said, isn't-"
"I'm doing it for Flora and the baby, jackass. I want them safe, Iwant them to not have to worry about assholes like these. You and Dixie too." Lawson said quickly, shaking his head. "I told Momma and Dad I'd take care of you guys, so I'm gonna do that, okay?"
Griffith clamped his mouth shut and let out a little exhale before turning away from his brother and looking out from the junkyard, wondering when and if Kasper's boys would show up.
Or if they were already there.
While everyone talked quietly amidst each other, Griffith could hear the crunch of gravel not too far off and quickly turned his head to face the sound, frowning tightly as he did so. |

Harper grimaced as the gravel crunched underneath her feet and tried to move away again, reaching for her knife again. She needed to be a distraction.
Kasper headed up the path quietly with his group, guns at ready. |

| Griffith narrowed his eyes and let out a rumbled growl as he slowly began making his way over towards the source of the sound, listening intently for it to continue. |

| Harper ran her tongue piercing over her teeth anxiously as she listened at the footsteps and rumble, moving again but faster this time. She glanced when she spotted Kasper and the others close enough to make their move and then took off. |

Lawson jerked his head to see Griffith taking off after a girl, the both of them a blur. |

Kasper and the others ran in to attack, some with knives, others with guns, Kasper with his own knife since he had a death wish.
Harper cursed under her breath when she heard Griffith chasing after her, taking off for the exit. "Fuck off, mutt!" |
