Lowell grimaced and turned slightly to look at his twin, not going to force him to come along if he felt he couldn't. It was going to be hell without him, if that's what he decided but... this had to be the right thing, right? They'd just come back for the rest of them.
And their parents deserved justice. |

Digby continued to press on, fighting the urge to turn back for his sister. He looked up to Lowell and offered a small nod, as if to tell him he was still on board.
Charlotte screamed and threw herself against Darcy harshly, wanting to be cut lose so she could follow after her siblings. |

Lowell nodded and went to get in the driver size of the truck. "I'll drive the first half, Digs." he said, as he opened the door. Harlow had doubled over in his seat, face buried in his shaking hands.
Darcy grimaced, trying to hold onto Charlotte still. "Ow- Charlotte, honey, stop..." |

"Buuuuubby! Bubby! D-don't go! I'll be good! Please! Please!" Charlotte continued to wriggle against Darcy, tugging hard at his hands.
Digby got into the front seat with a little nod. Meanwhile, Tessa slid into the back of the cab with Harlow, reaching over to wrap her arm around his shoulders. |

Lowell took a deep breath and started up the truck, going to pull out of the drive way once they were all in, grimacing as he glanced at his little sister thrashing and wailing like she was. This had to be done.
Right?
He took another deep breath once they were on the road.
Darcy put Charlotte down with a shaky breath, not wanting to drop her from all the thrashing. |

| Harlow took a shuddering breath as he sat up and turned to look out the back window. "F-fuck." he cried, miserably as he watched Charlotte as Lowell grimaced and took a shaky breath of his own, driving the truck down their road and away from the little girl. |

Tessa reached up to cradle Harlow's head to her shoulder, crooning quietly to him.
Meanwhile, Charlotte reached the end of the driveway and turned to head down the road after her siblings. |

It had been a long drive. A LONG drive to Faulkner and to where they were now, parked in the parking lot to a small apartment complex. Harlow couldn't help but remember THAT incident with his father when he stepped foot out of the truck.
He gave a tired shaky sigh and went around with Lowell to grab the bags from the bed of the truck, looking around them. Faulkner hadn't changed much, other than new buildings and small things like that. It just went on, as if there wasn't a gang war, as if there wasn't bloodshed.
And Harlow hated it for that.
Lowell hefted up most of the bags and went to carry them to the apartment complex entrance and up the stairs, feeling utterly exhausted. They had drove nonstop. |

While Harlow and Lowell did most of the heavy lifting with the bags, Digby was doing heavy lifting in the way of hefting a knocked out Tessa from the backseat of the truck. She slumped heavily in his arms, only moving with a whine when she started to come too.
"Tessy, we're here.' He crooned to her. "But you can sleep, s'alright. I got you." |
