Darcy looked up and blinked. "Uh.. pinch hitter... I'd really like to be starting pitcher though."
Trevor gave Darcy a slightly doubtful look. He didn't look like someone capable of any of that. "I dunno, you don't look like you'd be someone good at baserunning with pinch hit. You kinda.. don't look like you run at all."
Darcy gave Trevor a very deadpan, though annoyed look. "That could be because I was in a wheelchair for months." |

Practice had been interesting. Everyone had wanted Dixon's attention, wanted to team up with him for work outs, wanted to talk to him. It was like Darcy got the complete and total "new kid" treatment while Dixon was treated like an All Star already and while Darcy was happy for his friend, really... it was a little... straining on Darcy himself.
But, they'd gotten through practice without much drama and were packing up now to head out and home. And Darcy really hoped there wouldn't be anymore interruptions. He really wanted to go home and maybe steal Dixon's attention for a while, for a video game or movie or ANYTHING. Dixon had become quite popular and, fuck, he missed him.
He sighed as he zipped up his bag and went to stand back up, stretching out his sore back and glanced for Dixon around the locker rooms. |

Dixon had briefly gone for a twirl in the lockerroom showers, scrubbing off his face and hair of sweat and was in the process of returning to his locker. He went to call out to Darcy, however stopped when he saw his friend stretching out his back.
"Hey, you hurting?" He asked as he came over, stepping over one of the low benches to get to his locker beside Darcy's. He opened it up and reached for his bag, pulling out his street clothes to change into. |

Dixon nodded as he quickly changed back into his clothes, hanging up his towel in the locker before shoving his dirtied clothes into his bag and slamming the locker door shut. He grinned Darcy's way and gave him a light nudge. "Let's go. We should stop by Lydia's on the way home. Alex was telling me they bought new blenders and were going to start doing smoothies." |

| "Mm, I guess." Dixon said, making a slight face. While he wasn't exactly the smartest tool in the shed, he definitely was not oblivious to the situation. He noticed how the other guys tried to get at Darcy and while he intervened as much and as often as he could, the other boys seemed relentless. "I think we should have had you pitching more, honestly." He admitted, scuffing at hte floor. |

The bitterness, despite it's attempt to be covered up, was still slightly noted.
"Oh...well...I wanna practice it with you." Dixon said, his brows furrowed slightly as he gave a firm nod.
The two of them exited the gym and headed to leave the campus. |
