Dixon briefly glanced over and poised to say something, however, he was cut short when Griest slung an arm around his shoulders and began guiding him away, as if taking Darcy's statement as clearance for Dixon-napping.

Darcy's brows furrowed as he watched after them. "..Well.. alright.. see you then.." he muttered and went to head to the front entrance of the school.

((FF to Lunch))

It had been a long day for Dixon. Between still getting used to the layout of the school, or rather, getting used to being back in an actual school (he decided very early on in the day he missed independent study), and being dragged around by Griest in between all of his classes, he was exhausted and ready to go home. However, he was barely halfway through the day.

He had only seen Darcy once so far in the day, in his American Government class. They tried to talk briefly, however, his talking got him moved to another seat towards the back of the class, far away from Darcy, much to his dismay. While they didn't get to see each other long, Dixon could tell there was something off about Darcy, which he decided he would ask about during lunch hour.

He'd picked up a hot lunch, courtesy of the cafeteria, and moseyed about the lunch room, trying to find Darcy, hoping to spend SOME time with his best friend.

Darcy was sitting down at one of the tables, picking at his food and pushing it around with his plastic fork, a deep frown on his face. He had hardly seen Dixon at all since the day started and.. really.. it was disappointing. He had looked forward to starting the school day with Dixon but that's how things were, he supposed. But.. still..

"Hey, Fitz!" Trevor from the group called, rushing over to Dixon. "Hey man, come sit with us and the team!"

Dixon looked to Trevor and offered a small smile as he reached up to rake his hand through the back of his hair in a sheepish manner.

"I'm actually looking for Darcy, I was gonna sit with him." He tried.

"Who? Oh right, Hunt. I'm sure he'll turn up, c'mon!" Trevor threw his arm over Dixon's shoulders and went to drag him away.

"Fitz!" Nearly everyone yelled as he approached the table. He gave them all a sheepish smile and head nod, however, he continued to look around for Darcy, hoping that he would turn up.

Darcy glanced up and over when he heard Dixon's last name, blinking a few times. He hesitated before standing up to try and spot Dixon, hoping they were going to sit together.

"I brought us our new all-star!" Trevor grinned, pushing for Dixon to sit down in the middle of one of the benches.

"Heh, uh, thanks, but seriously, Trevor, I'm looking for-" Dixon stopped short when he saw Darcy not too far off, sitting by himself, however, looking as if he were searching for someone...for him maybe. He smiled and went to raise a hand, trying to get Darcy's attention. "Darce!"

"Hey, Hunt, come join us!" Trevor called, glancing over.

Darcy looked as reluctant as he felt but he grabbed his tray to go over, trying to remind himself he had to get to know these guys.

Dixon grinned, poising to take an end seat near where Darcy was headed, however, he was quickly yanked down into a seat and thrust immediately into conversation about the team, about his family, so on and so forth.

Darcy faltered at that but sat down quietly at the end, trying to figure out how he could involve himself in the conversation and coming up blank. He waited, hoping for some sort've acknowledge or his chance to get to talk to Dixon.

Dixon looked a bit anxiously towards Darcy, wanting to rope him into the conversation so, fuck, he could have a conversation with his friend. However, the rest of the guys on the team were pretty good at keeping him busy with conversation of their choice.

Darcy pursed his lips and pushed his food around again, waiting and waiting. But the group just kept their attention on the Fitz kid, asking him about his brothers, his father, about baseball, what position he wanted, so on and so forth.

"I...uh...shortstop, I guess. I like shortstop." Dixon nodded, glancing over towards Darcy. "Hey, Darcy, uh...what position did you want to play again?" He asked, trying to invite Darcy into the conversation.
