It had been a few weeks since the Fitz and Hunt gang had moved to Shelbyville and admittedly, things had been going smoothly. It took them a while to get the house clean and livable but it finally was and they all felt.. safer here. By a long shot.

Everyone had been working their hardest, Darcy doing his best from his situation, Dixon was getting better about being here and Harper, Flora and Griffith were just doing their best to make sure the living situation was good.

Thus being why the boys were all at the shop cleaning up. And it was a lot of cleaning to do, really. Darcy was moving boxes and picking up what he could reach and moving them from place to place as Griffith told him.

"Hey, Griffith, where should I put this box?" he asked, pushing his wheelchair back. "Looks like it's full of bottles of oil or something."

"Go ahead and put that over by the trash heap. I'm going to call for trash pickup in the morning." Griffith said, reaching up to scrub a bandanna at his face clean of sweat.

The three "men of the house" had gone down to the shop to start the long, laborious job of cleaning up Mack Fitz's old auto body shop in hopes of opening up relatively soon (once Griff got a business license set up with the help of his family's lawyer). They'd come down a few days in a row, and while it had been hard work, it was starting to pay off.

Griffith was in the process of cleaning (DEEP cleaning) off the work benches and planned to start the task of polishing the floor. Meanwhile, Dixon was in the middle of cleaning off all the windows, which was vastly brightening up the place.

Darcy pushed himself over to the heap and tossed the box down on the floor by it, reaching up to wipe at his face too. "I'm gonna go in the back room and see if I can wheel anything else out." he said, heading towards that door. "Harper is supposed to stop by with lunch, right?"

"Yeah, should be by any time now if she can get out of bed." Griffith joked about his girlfriend's ever increasing size.

Darcy laughed a bit. "Poor Harp." he said, opening the door and pushing his way in, frowning at how dark it was. He grabbed his phone and turned the light on from that and looked around for anything he could grab. He paused when he noticed two spots shine from the light and jumped, turning quickly to look again.

"It's always poor Harp, never poor Griff. No one ever thinks about what it's like for me to have to deal with the brunt end of her pregnancy." Griff teased.

"Well, you did impregnate her with two giants, Griff. Kind of hard to feel bad for you." Dixon said from his perch standing on top of one of the work benches.

"Oh god, please, don't be a raccoon." Darcy said to himself, or the world really but found himself further investigating, pushing himself over to the area and leaning in to try and see better. He stifled a screech when a fluffy tail ran across his face and he heard little broken 'meow' follow the assault. Darcy went to back pedal so to speak before realizing it was, in fact, a cat.

And from the looks of it when he moved the light back to the cat, it was either a very fat or VERY pregnant black and grey spotted cat. Or maybe white spotted.

He hesitated before reaching down to gauge the reaction, glad he was wearing his gloves and very surprised when the cat immediately pushed his or her head into his hand and gave another little quiet broken "mrow" towards him.

"Oh, you're a pretty baby, aren't you?" Darcy crooned quietly.

Griffith went to respond to Dixon, however stopped and cocked a brow when he heard Darcy talking.

"Darce?" He called out, pausing in his task to head towards the back office.

"In here." Darcy called, reaching to pick up the momma cat after getting a better look at her. She was definitely a female and she definitely looked more pregnant than fat, from the way her stomach extended out.

And she was absolutely precious. As soon as she was in his lap, she curled up like it was her spot the whole time and purred, rubbing into his hand again. "Ohhh precious girl." he murmured with a smile, totally in love already. "You just want love, huh, pretty?"

"Darcy, who the fuck are you talking to?" Griffith asked, stopping in the doorway of the back office, looking at his brother-in-law's back to him.

"Huh?" Darcy said, distracted for the moment still as she pet the cats ears gently before finally realizing he was still in the garage with Dixon and Griffith. "Oh, sorry." he said, turning the wheelchair to face Griffith. "See?" he grinned.

Griffith instantaneously pulled a face and reeled back, pointing a disgusted hand towards the cat in Darcy's lap.

"What the fuck is that?" He spat.

Darcy looked a bit startled by the reaction, brows furrowing. "It's a cat, Griffith, geez."

"It's fucking disgusting. Quick, take it outside and leave it there, maybe someone will pick it up." Griffith said, still looking absolutely mortified that Darcy would even TOUCH it.

"..Yeah, no." Darcy frowned, scooping the cat into his arms instead, almost protectively.
