Doctor Kelly situated the machine and puled her stool over as soon as she turned it on. She warned Harper of the cold goo on the doppler before pressing it to Harper's belly. Almost immediately, the doctor's face eased and softened when she could HEAR the issue.
"Well...this just makes so much more sense." She said. |

"Well, I'm sure you can hear the fluttering of those heartbeats, and...if...you'll just look right here." Doctor Kelly situated the doppler against Harper's belly and smiled as she pointed to the screen, which exhibited two little masses in one larger circular mass. "You can hear BOTH of your babies' heartbeats, and you can see BOTH of them right here."
Griffith felt his heart skip with relief...and then joyous surprise. His eyes lit up and he looked to the screen before looking to Harper, unable to suppress his widening smile.
"B-Both, like, like, more than one?" He asked, giddy. |

"That's right. You're pregnant with not one, very healthy looking baby, but TWO very healthy looking babies. Congratulations." Doctor Kelly smiled.
Meanwhile, Griffith was already grinning like a fool, smitten with the image and sounds of his babies. |

| "O-Oh my god." Harper gave a shaky startled laugh and reached to cover her face, listening to her babies heartbearts, tears already overflowing and trickling down her cheeks. |

"As it stands right now, you have to wonderfully healthy babies on the way." The doctor smiled Harper's way with a nod.
After looking, and staring, really, at the ultrasound screen for quite some time, Doctor Kelly finally proceeded on with the rest of Harper's tests (getting blood work done, a pelvic exam, etc). Through it all, Griffith couldn't escape the giddy little thoughts of his babies, his sweet, sweet little babies.

Harper asked whatever questions she felt needed to be asked and just patiently waited for it all to be done, keeping a hand on her stomach most of the time. Two babies. Two little ones and oh god, was she terrified but so damn happy.
After all was said and done, she went to get up, thanking Doctor Kelly and grabbing her bag. |

| "Make sure you two stop by the front to get your next appointment set up, we should be seeing you in a few weeks." Doctor Kelly waved as Griffith wrapped his arm comfortably around Harper's shoulders, settling her to his side as they exited the room and down the hall leading to the waiting room. |

As they walked along, Griffith was unable to contain himself as he craned his neck to place a kiss at Harper's temple.
"Baby...you did so good." He crooned, nuzzling at her a face with his nose. "You're so amazing." |
