The man wailed like a kicked dog and stumbled back, throwing his hands to his face to guard it.

Harper grabbed the other by the head and yanked him down hard, busting his head against her knee as she brought it up.

Griff watched as his fellow reeled away and he quickly used his directional force against him by swiftly kicking his middle, hoping to give him that final push downward.

Harper kneed him one more time while he was stunned before tossing him towards the ground, reaching to touch her sore lip. Both men fell, groaning and moaning in pain.

She stepped away, grimacing as she did. She was gonna be black and blue on that side tomorrow.

Griffith glared at the downed men before looking to Harper. Without much thought, he reached out to grab her chin, tilting her head to get a better look at her lip. He let out a small hiss.

"Got you good." He said.

"No kidding, you should see my side." Harper in a quiet tired murmured, still dazed by it all. She really was running on fumes and she wasn't even reacting to Griffith suddenly grabbing her chin.

"Jesus...well...listen, I was on my way to the shop anyway, and it's not far, why don't you come with me? We've got a first aid kit and I can patch you up real quick." Griffith offered, taking his hand back from Harper's face.

Harper nodded after a short moments thought. "Yeah, sure, alright." she said, glancing around before grabbing the plastic bag which she had dropped to fight back. "Lead the way."

Griffith feigned a nod, reaching to tuck his hands into his pockets before turning and guiding them both out of the alley.

The trip to the shop was by no means a long one, however, it certainly felt longer with the silence hanging between the twosome. They hadn't spoken since The Incident and The Aftermath, which, put Griffith on edge to some degree due to the fact he was waiting for Harper to tell him whether or not they needed to be panicking about a potential B-A-B-Y situation.

As they walked along, Griffith glanced over to Harper and decided to probe that particular matter.

"So...you never called." He said, matter-of-factly.

Harper sighed and held up the plastic bag, glancing over at him. "Tampons. I was going to call you when I got home. I just got off of work." she said, looking back forward as they walked and dropped her hand back by her side.

"Wait, seriously?" Griffith asked, not because he didn't believe Harper that the ordeal was over and they were both in the clear, but rather, because he wanted to hear it again, receive affirmation.

"Yes, Griffith. I'm on my period." Harper said bluntly but not sarcastically blunt for once. She reached up and rubbed at her sore eyes.

"Well, I mean that sucks, but, you know, that's fantastic news in the not pregnant sense." Griffith said, a mild smile budding at his lips. He then noted how Harper rubbed at her eyes. He recalled she'd said something about work. "So...uh...you were working, you said, right? Like gang work or, you know, a real job?" He asked, just trying to keep the conversation going.

"Real job." Harper yawned, shoving her free hand in her jeans pocket. "I've got two part time jobs." she said, looking over. "Warehouse unloading kind've job and inventory at another place."

"Wow, that's gotta be rough." Griff commented.

While he and Lawson both worked at the auto body shop (Lawson as a full-time worker and he as an apprentice under his brother), most of their income came from gang related activities, so it was hard for him to understand why Harper, in a similar position, would need not one, but TWO jobs.

Harper shrugged. "Pays the bills. And Darcy really wants a.. play.. station? Or whatever for his birthday. So I gotta save up."
