Supposedly, girls were meant to mature more quickly than boys. They were meant to be focused on getting their life together to someday have a man who was proud of them with wee ones running about.
However, that was so not Meara's (Meer- a) priority list. She wanted to live life to it's ABSOLUTE fullest and by that she meant get into everything she probably shouldn't, as long as it wasn't drugs or major crime, of course. Meara O'Brannen was the gal to go to if you wanted to find a party, if you wanted late night adventures, if you wanted a trip to the park to go skinny dipping in their freezing cold lake while screaming old AC/DC lyrics just because you could. Which drove her very religious strict parents absolutely crazy.
She was also your gal for getting into a bar fight, if that was your kind've thing. Not that it was really her thing per say but she wasn't the kind've gal to let some man grab her ass and then talk her down when she rejected him. "Oi! Are you absolutely mad?! Fuck off! It isn't my job to entertain you!" she yelled, accent VERY heavy.

Declan Fitz was, by the very definition, a very good boy. He rarely was disciplined by his parents, because he never really needed to be, he was a straight A student and earned a the scholarships for college to show for it, and he worked harder than any of the other boys his age at his job, even if it was a mediocre job at a grocery store at best.
It was perhaps for his good boy starts that his parents decided to let him spread his wings on his own on a trip to Ireland the summer before he was to start college. He’d gone before, of course, but this time he’d be staying without his parents and siblings, staying with his biological mother’s brother and his new little family in their guest house.
He’d gotten all settled when his uncle’s wife, Ellen, insisted her nephew take him out and show him some of the sights. But his definition of the sights mostly included the bar, so...there they were.
Declan was sipping a coke, never really the drinker, while his would be tour guide abandoned him to go talk to some boys their age he seemed to know. He glanced one way when heard some yelling and tried to access the situation and whether or not he should scoot further away from the confrontation or get involved when he heard a girl yelling. |

| "Do I look like a piece of meat to you!" Meara yelled, dodging when a drink was throw in her direction, her eyes flashing in anger. "Now you've done it." she laughed when she noticed a very angry man behind her rise up, very drenched in the other mans drink. |

Declan pauses in his sipping, further accessing the situation. Much like his father, he didn’t have the same penchant for fighting as either of his uncles, so if this turned out to be a brawl, and it was looking that way, he wondered if he should get out. He went to set down his drink and was going to find Ellen’s nephew when he realized how in the middle of it all the yelling girl was, causing him to pause.
Would she be alright? |

| Meara ducked from a blow being swung her way and went to lash out with one of her own before being shoved down towards the ground by someone bumping into her. |

| Declan hardly had time to react besides bugging eyes as he rushed towards the brawl then to help the girl. He haphazardly dodged some punching erupting around him and ducked down to grab the girl up by her armpits, hoping to haul her to her feet. |

| Meara went to shove whomever off before realizing it wasn't to harm but to help her and then stumbled up with whoevers help. "Thanks! But uh, you should duck!" |

| Declan, not much (or rather at all) a fighter, let out a groan as he grabbed at his face, slumping in the girl’s arms for a moment before trying to get to his feet. He narrowly swayed out of the way of a hurtling mug and then looked down at the girl. He remembered his intention and grabbed for her hand to try and get them both out of the quickly spreading bar brawl. |

| Meara looked a little confused but mostly concerned as she half lead the man out and was lead out by him, shoving people away from them as firmly as possible while shouting explicits at whomever griped at them. "Y'damned right all kno' better, ya little shits! Now move, hes hurt!" |

| "I'm fine." Declan assured, though his head was spinning a bit. He turned to glance at the girl, eyes widening when he saw someone throwing a beer bottle their way. He quickly reached out, placing his hand atop her head to duck her down as he stooped as well, allowing the bottle to fly over them and to shatter somewhere else. "Jesus." He cursed, opting to stick low as they continued through the crowd. He wasn't sure they were going to make out of the brawl until he saw a door nearby. Without thinking, he pressed onward towards it and opened it up before pulling them both inward...into a broom closet. |

For a moment, Declan considered stepping back out of the closet, but when two wrestling men slammed the door shut on them and continued to pin each other against the door, it seemed like he and the girl weren't going anywhere.
"So much for an easy night on the town." He joked lightly. |
