Rory admittedly felt a little bad that she had called Elliot so early to come pick up Dallas. But when she had gotten up this morning to tend to him, she felt like absolute crap. Everything in her body ached, her throat felt like it was on fire and she had a constant need to just throw up.
God damn, was she sick. And she was not about to let Dallas catch it too. Her brother and mother were out of town, visiting family back in Ireland, which Rory had wished she could've joined them to do. But she had work and school and ultimately, her son.
She was currently on the sofa, curled up in a blanket and shivering due to a mild fever, looking just as miserable as she felt as she watched Dallas crawl shake a crinkly toy about, his little eyes fixated on the toddlers show on the TV. |

When Rory had called Elliot to come pick up Dallas, he was a little surprised, mostly because while she kept to their usual agreement of days, she wasn't really keen on letting Elliot take him on her days (and vice versa for that matter). However, he could tell in her voice that she felt like shit, after all she certainly sounded like shit. He promptly agreed to go over and pick up Dally, but on his way over, he was sure to stop at the drug store to pick up a few little odds and ends in the way of cold remedies for Rory, not wanting to her to die on him or Dally.
He came up to the family home and promptly knocked at the door before poking his head in.
"Rory? Dally-boy?" He called. |

Dallas turned his head at the sound of Elliot's voice and let out a loud coo, flailing his arms even more.
"Living room." Rory called with a wince, putting her hand on her throat as she curled up tighter. |

Elliot made a slight face upon hearing Rory's voice and entered the house, closing the door behind him. He glanced towards the living room and saw Dallas first, grinning when he saw his baby boy giddy to have heard him.
"Dally!" He crooned, stretching his arms out for the baby boy. |

Elliot smiled and went over to scoop Dallas up, glancing over at Rory and making a face when he saw her. He tucked Dallas against him and went over to Rory, looking her over.
"You look awful, Rory." He frowned. |

| "Thanks. I know." Rory croaked, her usual quick to resort to sarcasm completely gone. She sounded small and tired. "Sorry to call you-" she stopped to give a few coughs. "Fuc-sorry to call you so early." |

| Rory flushed slightly, though she already was flushed due to her fever. "Oh.. you don't have to do that, I'm... I'll just sleep it off?" she said, not wanting to be an inconvenience. Or a bigger one, that was. |
