Coco looked up to Darcy, feeling her chest seize with breath and her stomach flutter with anxious emotion.

He was just as handsome as he was two years ago... and he still made her feel the same way.

She flushed bashfully and reached up to tuck a stray tendril of hair from her face.

"Um...hi." She greeted.

Darcy swallowed hard, heart hammering in his chest and he tried his best to just think rationally. "How... how are you?"

Harper stepped out of the kitchen. "Hey hey hey, every sit down, c'mon, make room."

"I um - oh yeah, sorry, Harper." Coco flushed even deeper and moved to sit down...in a seat next to where Tess proceeded to yank Darcy towards.

"Sit next to auntie Coco!" She insisted.

"Tessa.." Darcy started but sat down heavily as he was yanked around, feeling all the more nervous.

Harper went over to Darcy and kissed his temple. "Hey kiddo. You look tired."

"Oh- uhm, I'm good." Darcy managed a slight smile and squeezed her arm.

Harper hummed and patted his cheek before going to go round up the kids into their seats.

Tom made his way back towards the table and sat down at Coco's other side, side glancing Darcy, sizing him up. This was the guy Coco was with before? He wasn't THAT impressive, there was no way he'd stand a chance versus him. With that thought, he reached up and casually slung his arm around Cocos shoulder.

"Hey, doll, who's this?" He asked.

"Hmm, oh, uh... this is..." My ex? Harper's brother? The man I left? "Um, this is Darcy." Coco introduced.

Darcy glanced up sharply, feeling his breath seize in his chest and his hand ball up into a fist on his lap. Tom looked awfully comfortable, being so close to Coco, they both looked awfully comfortable and 'doll'? "..Who's this?" he asked, as casually and calmly as he could.

Which was difficult.

Coco tried to shrug Tom's hand off her shoulder, offering an rather tight smile as she did so.

"Um, this is Tom, he's a friend of mine from the dance troupe." She said to Darcy. God...she hoped he wasn't getting the wrong impression.

So it was true then.

Darcy offered a little nod, eyeing Tom for a moment before looking back down at the table, putting his elbows on it and clasping his fingers together and resting the lower half of his face against them as casually as he could. Harper, oblivious to the situation since she was taking care of her kids and serving up food, swooped in to do just that. "Come on, everyone sit down." she said firmly.

Darcy leaned back so she could serve his plate, not at all hungry anymore.

"Momma, Momma, I want extra baby corn in my salad, please, please?" Tessa chirped, reaching up to pat at her mom's arm.

"Can she take ALL my baby corns?" Digby pursed his lips in disgust.

Meanwhile, Coco shifted uncomfortably in her seat, glancing over at Darcy.

"Okay Tessa and no, Digby, eat your baby corns." Harper said, going from place to place to serve up plates. Harlow watched Coco and Darcy curiously, tilting his head. He was a very observant child, what with having to watch everything to understand things most of his life.

"Momma, when is tía Flora and Estella coming?" Lowell asked as she filled his plate and such.

"The day before Christmas, honey." Harper answered, letting out a tired breath.

Darcy picked up his fork, doing his best not to look at Coco or Tom and pushed his food around miserably. "So.. how's.. dance going?" he asked, doing his best.

Digby frowned tightly and 'fwumped' his head onto the table.

"I hate baby corns, even Daddy hates baby corns." He complained.

Meanwhile, Tessa looked pleased as could be with her reward.

Coco glanced over.

"Oh, um, well...I just got back from doing some work with a troupe in Russia. That was neat." Coco said, not really wanting to talk about dance, then again...she wasn't sure what she wanted to talk about with Darcy.

"Digby." Harper frowned, looking over. "You got away with not finishing your peas last night. You're eating these." she said sternly, going to sit down finally.

Darcy nodded a little. "Yeah, it.. it sounds it." he managed a small smile.

"You don't make Daddy eat his veggies." Digby pouted slightly, however, sat up straight to collect his plate.

"What about...um...what are you up to these days? Dixon...Dixie said you...went back to Ireland for awhile." Coco said, trying to strike up some casual conversation. She honestly wanted to hear what he'd been up to.

"I do too, Digby." Harper sighed, raising her eyebrow at him.

Darcy glanced back over at her, pushing his food around. "Um, yeah, yeah. I went back to Doolin and Ennis." he said, biting at his bottom lip. Coco had been to Russia and probably a lot of grand different places and Darcy was just.. Darcy.

The guy with the bad back that couldn't hardly dance, the loser All-star back home that had stayed in their little apartment with all of the damn memories before finally, finally moving out and regretting it.

"Nuh-uh. He always says you said he could give them to Pickles." Digby pursed his lips as he pushed his baby corns all around the plate.

"Oh...and...are um...going back to baseball soon?" Coco asked, collecting a forkful of salad, however, not lifting it to her lips.
