Harper took his hand and stood up with his help, her own trembling still obvious. She just wanted everything to be okay for once. She really really did. "L-lead the way..."

Griffith held on tight to Harper's hand and did just that. He guided them out of the back of the clinic and to the front, only stopping to set up an appointment for a later date. After that, he proceeded to guide Harper back out to the car, where he opened her door for her before climbing in himself. Once he got the car started and into gear, he reached out to offer his hand to Harper again.

It'd been a few weeks since Harper's last appointment and while that particular appointment was supposed to be the "moment of truth" in the way of finding out the baby's paternal contributor, today's appointment was the "moment of truth" in the way it would be determined whether or not their baby would be viable in any sense.

Griff had busted his buns and worked himself thin to help Harper, trying to keep her healthy and positive, and needless to say, he was fucking exhausted. While he'd worked hard to make sure Harper was healthy, he wasn't looking so. The skin beneath his eyes was looking permanently bruised and his eyes red. While he had always been thinner, he was looking almost gaunt these days, too tired and too anxious to really stomach anything. More than anything though, he looked tired.

But still, he was determined to persevere for Harper's sake and, certainly, for his baby's sake. He had decided they would not lose their baby if he had absolutely anything to do with it.

He and Harper had driven over to the clinic and were escorted to the back for their appointment. The nurse had left them alone to stew in their anxieties. God, Griff hoped, prayed, that this appointment would be alright.

Harper watched Griffith while they both waited anxiously, noting how damn ill and tired he looked. She needed to step up and take care of him too, for his sake and for their children's sake and even her own. "You're going straight home and taking a nap after this, babe." she decided out loud, reaching over to pet his cheek.

She'd been doing her best to stay positive and just left it in fates hands, the best she could. While she was looking better, she knew Griffith definitely wasn't. And it was time HE was taken care of, no matter the outcome of today. She'd focus on him and take care of herself too.

She glanced up and over towards the door when she heard the doctor knock and she let herself in.

"Good morning." she greeted, pulling the cart with her.

Griffith had reached up to grab at Harper's hand at his cheek, moving it to kiss at her knuckles as he feigned a weak head shake, not so much worried about himself, but rather worried about fussing over Harper. He looked up at the doctor as she entered.

"Morning." He greeted.

"You are." Harper whispered with a frown before looking at the doctor. "Morning." she greeted as well, squeezing Griffith's hand.

"How are we feeling?" she asked Harper, setting up the cart.

"Better." she nodded, going to lay back and pull up her shirt. "Ready to.. find out."

Griff nodded in agreement with Harper's sentiment, giving her hand a weak squeeze in return.

Harper watched Griffith, more anxious about how HE was than anything right then. He needed sleep. BADLY.

The doctor nodded in sympathy and went to hurry along so they could find out, putting the gel on Harper's stomach and going to get the system ready before putting the probe to her stomach.

Harper held her breath slightly as she waited and listened, only exhaling when there was a soft ba-bump, ba bump, ba bump.

Griffith's breath hitched. The heartbeat sounded, definitely, better, however, it wasn't nearly as strong as it was with the twins or Tessa. He looked to the doctor for her analysis.

"That's... that's good, right?" Harper asked, looking at the doctor.

"Oh, that's definitely better, yes." the Doctor nodded, moving the probe around until she got a clear view of the baby and pointed it out to them. "There they are. The heartbeat isn't as strong as I would like for it to be, but it's only been a couple of weeks and that is strong progress from before. It's definitely a slow developer."

"Do...are...they are developing still, right?" Griffith asked, reaching up to scrub at his face a bit.

"Yes." The doctor nodded, indicating to the clean picture. "It's smaller than your daughter was but there's the head and the body, a little nose. They've grown since your last appointment, so yes, they're still developing along."

A small smile flickered onto Griffith's face and his hand trembled in Harper's. Everything they'd done had paid off, it was all paying off.

"They're about the size of.. I want to say a fig." the Doctor explained, moving the probe a bit again. "About an inch long. A little small, again." she nodded, taking the pictures for them. "Harper, I want you to be sure you get plenty of protein, iron, and calcium in your diet."

"Alright." Harper nodded, squeezing Griffith's hand tightly, trying to soothe him. She felt oddly calm after getting the news. Like everything would be alright.

"We can do that, we can do that." Griffith said, letting out a breath of relief as he continued to look up at his baby's image on the screen.
