| Dixon lips quivered as he held in an 'I love you', not wanting to tread dangerous waters right then and there. Instead, he gave a little nod of acknowledgement and started towards his car. |

It had been a few weeks since Dixon and Dana started their "break" and to be completely honest...it wasn't going so well. Dixon wanted things to just go back to the way they were, but it was hard to be around Dana and want that when it felt like he wasn't allowed to conduct himself. More than that, it was hard to know he wasn't trusted and honestly it made him worry that perhaps Dana wouldn't want to be with him in the end anyway, and he couldn't blame her for that. He wouldn't blame her if she hated him because, by God, he hated himself.
He'd picked Dixie up to spend the weekend with him, but when it came time to take her back, he had asked Darcy to drop her off instead, not wanting to see Dana and feel that too-familiar ache in his heart that came whenever he laid eyes on her.
He had washed some of Dixie's clothes and was folding them up to be put away until he was hit with a wave of sadness and could only stand to lay down in the pile of clothes instead and quietly cry to himself.
"Fuck...fucking...dammit..." He simpered quietly. |

Harper sighed as she headed up the stairs quietly, lips pursed sadly. She had been pretty worried over this whole ordeal with Dixon and Dana. Worried for both of them and for Dixie too, but most of all, worried for Dixon. She knew Dana had her parents to take care of her but Dixon seemed to be trying to take it all on his own and that's not how things worked.
She remembered how it ached to be separated from your first love. Even if her and Griffith weren't 'separated' because they technically were not dating and it hadn't been that long, it still hurt none-the-less. She knocked lightly on Dixon's door, some juice in her other hand. She'd notice Dixon hadn't really been taking good care of himself either. "Dixon?" Harper called. |
