"C'mon, Dixie, there's one of me and you, some of dad and Lawson too." Griffith continued to urge on, offering a smile for his brother, a smile Dixon eventually returned as Darcy squeezed at his wrist.
"Yeah, let's check them out." He said, pushing Darcy forward. |

Meanwhile, Griffith only laughed.
"But seriously, lots of pictures still up. I bet the rest of Mom's albums are around here somewhere too." He said. |

"If you don't mind watching Estella, I saw a McDonalds on the way into town, I can pick us up something from there." Flora suggested with a shrug.
"And I packed up some of the cleaning stuff before we left, so we can use what we've got and, boys, if you want, I can give you some money and you can walk down to the store just down the way, pick up some stuff." Griffith nodded. |

"Alright, I'll be back then." Flora said, excusing herself and exiting from the front door. Moments later, the car could be heard starting up and pulling out of the driveway.
"Yeah, that sounds good to me." Dixon nodded, leaning heavily on the back of Darcy's chair. "As long as we get the change to buy pop, right?" He asked.
Griff gave his brother a look, lips pursed. |

"Good Lord, y'all are needy." Griffith joked with a huff before reaching into his wallet to pull out money. "Get us some bleach, windex, gloves, trashbags, and papertowels, alright? Get you each ONE soda and get Harper juice." He nodded, handing the money over to Dixon, who promptly handled it to Darcy as even Dixon knew Darcy was more money-wise. "The store's just-"
"Down the block, right? Passed Dad's shop?" Dixon interrupted.
"Yeah, that's the one." Griff nodded. |

Harper made a face at Griffith playfully and went to go explore the house a little, cuddling Estella and humming to her.
Darcy tucked the money into his pocket, pushing up his sleeves. |

Griffith poked his tongue out after Harper before turning back to the boys.
"Call me in an hour if you guys aren't done by then, okay?" He said, earning a nod and a salute from Dixon.
"You got it." He said, turning Darcy around and heading for the door. "We'll even get you a chocolate milk if there's enough change!" He teased over his shoulder.
Griffith laughed a bit and rolled his eyes before going to the front windows of the house, going to draw back the curtains to let in some natural light so he could clearly assess the dirt and grime. |

Harper walked around the kitchen for a little while, looking it over quietly and peering out the kitchen window to the back yard, trying to imagine Griffith's mother standing here at some point too and watching her boys or something. She really wanted to make things homey for everyone again.
"Adventure time, eh?" Darcy joked, looking up at Dixon again. |

After Griffith opened up all the windows, he disappeared outside to grab the cleaning supply box he'd put in the truck he and Harper had traveled in. He dragged in the entire box and settled it down in the living room, by the open door, before he went to go find Harper.
He found her in the kitchen, staring wistfully outside, which drew a smile from him.
"Hey, what do you think of the kitchen? Pretty nice, huh?" He asked, leaning on the door frame leading into the kitchen. |
