((From Henry Calvary Public School))
Darcy and Dixon had went their separate ways right after school to set their plan into motion. Darcy had to walk home because Harper hadn't shown up and then had to find her because she hadn't been home either. Eventually he got a hold of her and found out she was just hanging out with some of the gang and practically begged her to come to the baseball field with him for practice.
Because fuck going around the gang, even to drag his sister off to make things right. Thankfully it wasn't too hard of a fight- Harper loved baseball and if she could get her little brother into it, she would in a heartbeat.
So Darcy found himself heading to the baseball field with a very quiet Harper, feeling nervous and hopeful at the same time. He just wanted his sister to feel better and Griffith too, really. For his own sake and for his best friend's mental sake.
"So uh, Dixon's been teaching me a fastball, like you told him to." Darcy glanced down at his older sister, shoving his hands in his hoodie pockets.
"Yeah? That's good." Harper responded quietly, watching ahead of them as they walked. She had on her stoic bitch face. Or maybe it was just her resting face. It was really hard to tell with Harper.
"Yeah. I thought I'd show you and we could practice and stuff?" Darcy tried again to get her to talk more.
"Sure, bud, that's fine." Harper nodded and patted his back affectionately to reassure him. She knew how she'd been the past few days but it was... hard to feign anything else.
Darcy gave a little sigh, praying and hoping once again that this worked. He headed up and opened the fencing gate door for her and ushered her in before going to lead her to the storage place. "Dixon said there should be some gear in here."
"I don't know why we couldn't just bring our gear. I bought you that bat and you don't even want to use it." Griffith grumbled as he and Dixon walked across the back parking lot at the park where he'd left the bike.
"Because I don't wanna ding it all up yet, not until we get to play a real game." Dixon protested as he all but bounced along towards the field. "Besides, I heard they bought even BETTER bats for the little league this year." He said, hoping that would somehow bring SOME pep to Griffith's step, however, it didn't.
Not even close.
Dixon let out a sigh, rolling his eyes at his brother as they walked along, heading for the field where, hopefully Harper and Darcy would be waiting so the oldest siblings could hash things out.
Darcy fiddled with the broken lock on the storage unit (though Harper didn't know it was broken, thank god) and glanced for Griffith and Dixon in the distance occasionally. When he spotted too figures, though blurry, he hurried Harper into the storage place.
"Uh, Darcy, I don't see any mits or baseball bats." Harper commented.
"They're probably in the back!" Darcy said and grabbed her wrist, tugging her along.
Much like Darcy, Dixon was trying to hurry Griffith right along, which was failing miserably as Griffith was moving at a grumpy snail's pace. Eventually, though, the twosome reached the storage unit and, much to Dixon's pleasure, Griff appeared to not have noticed the shuffling inside, being as out of it as he was.
"C'mon Griff, shake a leg, let's MOVE." Dixon said, going to shove Griffith inside the unit first.
"Dixie, c'mon, don't shove me." Griffith said, giving very little real protest.
There was a bit more bickering, but eventually, two silhouettes could be seen in the entrance, one of which was taller and a bit more filled while the other was obviously a lanky teen...a lanky teen who was somehow (very annoyingly) overpowering the bigger figure.
"Listen, you two, we know, the jig is up." Dixon said, folding his arms over his chest and placing himself between Griff and the exit. "We know you two have been doing...gross stuff with each other," he gave a visible shudder, "and we also know you two broke up, or something, because you're both bummed, and that's not cool." Dixon explained.
Griff looked to Dixon, his brows furrowed, to which Dixon looked back at him and huffed.
"We just want you guys to be happy again, even if it goes against all that gang stuff." He continued.
Darcy stood beside Dixon, crossing his arms too. Yeah, they really looked intimidating, the two lanky blind kids.
"Look, I don't know what you're talking about Di-" Harper started.
"Don't even, Harper!" Darcy frowned, staring at her. "You both came home crying early Saturday morning, you've got a giant hickie on your neck," he pointed at her.
Harper flushed and reached up to cover the spot on her neck, wishing Darcy hadn't seen it.
"And you've got scratches on your back, which, ew." he pointed at Griffith. "And you've both been uselessly miserable for days. And your reaction to seeing each other kind've seals the theory here."
Griffith flushed himself and immediately tucked his head between his shoulders, looking down to the ground, not wanting to readily admit that their brothers were right...although, the evidence and their "guilt" was enough to convict them.
"You two need to hash it out." Dixon said sternly.
"All this shit with the gang needs to stop getting in between things." Darcy frowned, looking at them both. "Obviously, somehow you guys really like each other. Especially to affect you both like this. And obviously NOT being together isn't working for you two. Me and Dixon make our friendship work around things, you both need to find a way to make your relationship work. Lawson and Kasper doesn't have eyes everywhere, y'know."
"Darcy, Dixon..." Harper started but trailed off, shoving her hands in her pockets.
